Review: I do not like going to gyms and prefer to workout in private ... - I waited a few months to review this machine because I really wanted to have worked out on this before giving my opinion. Initially I really debated on where or not to buy this workout machine. I do not like going to gyms and prefer to workout in private BUT I just don't ever really feel like I get a good workout at home. I'm 5'7" and pretty averagely built so I was not sure if the "small strides" the other reviewers commented on would be a problem. While this machine obviously is not going to be like a regular elliptical and the strides are smaller I still would recommend this machine because: 1. If you push yourself and stay motivated you WILL get a good workout and the sweat will be flowing! 2. The size is just soooo much smaller than a regular elliptical and I can easily stash this in my closet when I'm not using it. 3. Helps with balance. (FYI I had no problem jumping on this machine without any type of support (chair/table) and if anything this has helped me with my balance). 4.Pretty quiet - I just prefer working out in the evenings, this machine is pretty quiet so I don't disturb anyone. 5. The arm cords have finally motivated me to start working out my arms. I have always had a skinny but weak upper body and could never to pushups etc so I just started slow with the arm cords (ohhh the burn) and I can really tell a huge difference in my arm strength. I usually workout on the machine for 25-30min and I am REALLY tired and sweaty at the end. I feel like I get a really good workout and because it is so convenient I am staying consistent with working out 2-3times a week (pretty good for my very inconsistent maybe once in the while workouts I was doing before). PS: This machine is VERY VERY easy to put together. Took me maybe 5 min so don't worry about that part.
Review: Perfect compact strider - I have used the Stamina InMotion compact strider for years. I had the previous model and after 5 years of daily striding with my 10,000 steps to "nowhere" I finally wore out the ball bearings. So I purchased this new one with the handle and the cords and have been using it for a month. I've seen reviews where people mention the unit squeaks right away. I did not find that to be the case. In fact, it's quiet. More quiet that the previous model. But if it does squeak, you can lubricate it (there's plenty of videos on YouTube to show you how). I have not tried out the cords yet as I use the strider mostly to stay mobile at work and not constantly be stuck to my desk. I have to read a lot of reports and do so while striding. I wear a Fitbit and often will get into cardio and most certainly into fat burning while striding. I am 59 years old, was previously athletic with sedentary years in between so I find the compact strider helps keep me mobile as too much sitting is detrimental to my overall health and well-being. In short, I recommend this for anyone who wants to use this in the office or at home, while reading or even watching TV, which is also a good distraction while simultaneously exercising. Next to getting out for a walk or hitting the gym, this is a great way to strengthen your leg muscles and work your heart rate and keep you mobile. Striding is also not straining on the knees or joints. And the footprint is small so it does not take up a lot of space. Note: If you put the strider on a carpet, you might want to get a mat, which I did, otherwise it will leave an impression in the carpet. Lastly, with the handle it is very easy to pick it up and relocate as needed.

**Q: Does anyone know if there is a difference between this model and Stamina In-Motion Elliptical Trainer 55-1610?**
A: This model is the new 2015 model from Stamina. More compact and has a built in carry handle.

**Q: Is it loud?**
A: Mine started to squeak and sounded like it was coming from where the arm meets the the foot paddle. But I lifted the wheel and found it was actually coming fronm the wheel. I cleaned the wheels but letting it run on some envelopes to clean it. Now sound is gone and runs perfectly smooth and soundless again as normal. Still scratching my head as to how it sounded like it was from the arm. But all good now no oiling needed. Just clean the wheels. No more squeaking! Had it for a few weeks now using it everyday.

**Q: How does one get replacement stretch bands for this machine?**
A: Hi Elizabeth: You can call the company at: Call Stamina Products at 1-800-375-7520 for a replacement PART 69, RESISTANCE TUBES, or write to the company at: Stamina, Inc. 2040 N. Alliance, Springfield, MO 65803 (Customer Service1 (800) 375-7520), email: www.staminaproducts.com.  They require the model number of your equipment and the part number.  Good luck, I may order a spare because I don't think stretch tubes are meant to last forever :-).

**Q: How is this machine different from the $90 model?**
A: I saw there were three different prices, with upper body resistance cords.  I chose the middle, $139.00.  I am happy with it, and that is what counts.  It is SO STURDY, very QUIET, and gives you a REALLY GOOD WORKOUT.  In fact, I like it much better than our full-sized elliptical, when our full-sized was working.Not sure about the other priced, and maybe there isn't a difference; but, we are very satisfied with the one we have, if that helps you make your decision :)   HAPPY FITNESS !!!OH, and I WOULD NOT get one without the upper resistance cords.  The cords DO help with balance, as well as giving your arms a GREAT workout.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This thing is great! *support - not so much

****Update 10-28-19**** It still runs. There is the occasional squeaking but it's not too bad. The tape helped as it was the tires, I oiled it up as well so that may have helped. It's good to be used a little at a time. If you do 10 min a day sitting down, you won't have too many issues. It's a pretty great product just to keep your legs moving for a bit. The support for it was terrible and pretty rude, but if you can do a few adjustments yourself, it's a pretty good product. Original: I was going to wait for more time before writing the review to make sure all was still well with it, but I just love it so much! I have an all day sitting job at a computer and though I just got a standing desk, I still was not exercising enough to have the energy for other things. I'll start with the cons as there are few: The machine is not perfect. The handle makes it easier to carry but a 25+ pound object that's a few feet wide is going to be awkward to carry no matter what. I bought the warranty for 3 years or something because some of the reviews that worried me. I've been using it at work for a few weeks already and no issue, except that first awkward phase when I realized I was using it backwards... I've had shin and joint pains if I went too much. This can be remedied by how you press on the pedals with your feet or going backwards or forwards to switch it up (I'll use it for 2-4 hours with short 5-10 min breaks on the hour). I still can't determine if it's my work chair that squeaks every so often or the machine. It's too infrequent to tell. Pro's - I use this for hours on end! If that doesn't wear it out, that's got to be a good build. It's not to heavy so good for transport. It fits under your desk and your knees, which are the real worry height, don't go up super high so the desk doesn't have to be to high. It's essentially silent with only the slightest noise if you are at a very high resistance. This is perfect since I use it at work. You can feel your leg muscles being strengthened and the exercise keeps me wide awake at work. It takes quite a while to start sweating (which can be pro or con depending) which is also great since I don't want to stink out my co-workers. You can sit or stand on it which isn't available in many other models of striders. All in all it's definitely worth it for the $80 price. Its a super great and convenient piece of equipment. All my co-workers had mentioned how they thought about getting one but never could find one like this. Who knows, we might all soon have them :)
