How many applications do you get with one package?

They actually open the box and they only give you one application. I bought it from red wing for cheaper and it came with 2 of almost everything, 2 applications

Has anyone compared this KG boot guard?

Yes I have. I’ve had both on different sets of my boots for years. The KG is way cheaper, but wears down after a few months. You can reapply the leftover KG, but it just wears down. Pay the extra money for the tuff toe. Apply once, and it will outlast your boot ever with excellent leather maintenance and sole replacement.

Would this be the appropriate product for coating the toe of a curling shoe?

Use Tuff Toe Pro. I don't know the difference between the two but the pro is what is used for shoes.

How much extra weight does it add to the boots?

Well if the product weight is 3 ounces divide that by half that's 1.5 ounces per boot probably about as much as a pair of reading glasses that you need to buy
