Sigg - Recycled Metal Water Bottle - Traveller - Made in Switzerland - Carbonated Drinks - BPA-Free - 34 Oz

I love 70% of this bottle. :-) Color = Great Size = Great Comfort = Great (even for small hands) Cleaning = DANG NEAR IMPOSSIBLE Weight = 146g (5.15oz) via my home scale WITH LID. I knew this was going to be a challenge to clean and dry, so that's not anyone's fault but my own. I did look for a SIGG 1L Aluminum single-wall with a 63mm (Nalgene compatible) mouth, but no luck so I went with this one. I'm now rethinking that idea, having found a different Sigg bottle (at the bottom). I wanted something that I could safely use to boil water on the trail for 2 reasons: (1) Emergency hydration: can't boil water in an insulated water bottle - need single wall construction. (2) Warming solution for sleeping bag foot box: I have ice-cube toes when cold weather camping; need a water bottle that can safely (without deformation or LEAKING) to hold very hot water as a foot box warmer in my sleeping bag before heading to bed. I could use a Nalgene bottle for these, but it's (A) even heavier than the aluminum bottle and (B) while "technically" you can boil water in a Nalgene bottle (I've boiled an egg ON THE FIRE using a styrofoam cup - try it, it's neat) you can't do the "boil-in-a-Nalgene" very many times without screwing up the bottle to the point where it's no longer usable. You CAN boil in an aluminum bottle LOTS of times without adverse issues - for years. Also, I don't think Nalgene's warranty will cover replacement when you use your Nalgene over a camp stove or campfire to boil water in it (I could be wrong). I might recommend this Sigg product for an average user. I've seen a lot of reviews that say that their Sigg bottle arrived with dents or that it dents easily. Mine arrived in perfect condition and feels pretty solid for an aluminum bottle. I can see that it might get some dings and scratches over time, but it doesn't bother me as long as it continues to serve its purpose. In an era where everyone is dragging around stanley cups, I like that this water bottle fits easily into the side pocket of my backpack and that it doesn't add a lot of weight. It's definitely leak proof with normal liquids like water - no idea about carbonated liquids since I haven't tried that. The water tastes fresh and good from it - no metallic taste. Overall, I'm really happy with it. I also like the style. This is more of an old school hiking water bottle, and it looks great from that point of view.

Perfect. An aluminum 1 liter water bottle in heavy black. Sigg bottles are well made, bisphenol-free, keep water cold, and function flawlessly. This is my second one. The first I had for years and loved, but was stolen when a thief took my bag on the train one day. This one is just as good as the last. Made from aluminum, they can dent if struck, but continue to function. They are a brilliant solution to the problem of carrying water. The screw top has a compliant seal that helps make the closure water tight every time. The cap is not secured in any way (one possible quibble). You could always secure it to the neck with some nylon string. The threads are fine and that sometimes makes it momentarily difficult to thread the cap on. The upside is excellent performance of the interface between aluminum bottle and plastic cap. Bottom line: a great bottle. Zero regrets.

I really love the brand and the overall design of the bottle; it has such a sleek and modern aesthetic. However, I've noticed that the aluminum material is a bit too soft, which unfortunately resulted in my bottle arriving with a dent. This was disappointing, as I was expecting a more durable product. Additionally, while holding the bottle, I realized that the small opening could pose a challenge when trying to refill it at water fountains. It might be difficult to get water in quickly or efficiently, especially in a busy setting. Overall, while I'm enthusiastic about the design, I think these issues could be improved for a better user experience.

I needed a good water bottle to have during my workouts and at Jiu Jitsu training. I thought this one looked cool with the brushed aluminum color look so I purchased it. It keeps the water cold for a long time, it's very light weight, and I like the little finger hole on the lid as it makes it easy to hold and carry around. My only complaint is that the metal bottle dents extremely easy. You will drop the bottle at some point, because that's life. So now it has multiple dents all over it...BUT, this doesn't affect the use of the bottle and it still works for what it's intended for...to hold cold water for me to drink while working out. I would buy this again...might be nice if they included a rubber sleeve or something to help absorb the impact when you drop it, but it's not really a big deal.

First off, let me state that I can't seem to find these in stores anymore. They are slowly being replaced by plastic bottles. They are very durable. I have had one for 5 years and it has gone to Yosemite and back. I have dropped it a few times so it has dents but that has not affected the bottle at all. I will say that the cap got moldy (the rubber part) and I tried various cleaning methods to remove the mold with no success. I bought a replacement cap that has a removable rubber ring and it works great. I recommend this and any sigg bottle to anyone who wants a bottle they can man handle.

Sigg bottles used to be one piece of metal. This bottle IS NOT. It has been changed to be "white metal" probably aluminum, sith a brass sleeve pressed into the neck for the threads. While that does work, it also creates white powder from galvanic corrosion where the two metals attack each other. Long term, that is not acceptable and not something you'd want to drink.

Ordered 4 different bottles and this SIGG was hands down the best! Well made, ergonomic and super light! I bought a 2nd one after using my 1st one.
