Great for low carb diets
After reviewing blenders and vitamix blenders for months I finally went with this one. Because I didn’t previously have a blender I didn’t know if I would actually use it, and couldn’t commit to higher priced models. This one already was extremely pricey for me. So yes it’s an amazing blender, everything ends up very smooth, even the vegetable smoothies I’d be making. I love green veggies and quarter of a lime or lemon (no need to peel just throw it in!). Also soups are great, I make a tomato one as no prep required (ie frying onions etc), you just throw it all in and blend for 5/6 minutes. And the broccoli and cheese is great too but need to steam the broccoli first. I’ve made Brazil but butter which I kept in the fridge and was so dreamy and amazing, just take a spoonful as a treat on the go (instead of a. Fatball or similar). No more peeling chickpeas for hommous this blitzes it as chunky or 100% smooth. When fresh it’s warm and so dreamy. Being low carb I have a lot of cauliflower rice. You just add the florets (I add broccoli too) and water so the floating just above blades and blitz. Then strain water out. I do a head of brocollinamd cauliflower, then blitz an onion, mix together with salt n pepper, and any herbs, garlic powder, lobe oil, and bake in oven... so good! I also make my bulletproof coffee in it, wowsas it’s amazing and frothy. Coffee isn’t the same now unless I pop in this for 30secs. I’ve also made the banana ice cream for the kids, they love it, and it’s just 2 ingredients, frozen banana (slice up and freeze ahead of time), and soft cheese. I’ve made keto ice cream too with frozen berries and the soft cheese, and mint. So my low carb diet has become so much easier. And I am eating WAY more veg everyday. I leave it on the counter and use 3 times a day most days! It’s very easy to clean, usually just a quick rinse in cold water straight away. Or if I’ve left it on the counter and go to use it later, I just pop in some warm water and tiny drop of washing up liquid and blend for 30secs. Negatives... well the price! But it comes with warranty and I think the quality of blend would not be improved with more expensive models that are €500+, so a great option for the vitamix experience for less. Noise, it’s not just your family you need to worry about waking up, this thing could wake your neighbours! No timer on it, so for soups I need to set phone timer. A small learning curve. It does take a while (as with any blender I guess), to get used to the order you add the ingredients to prevent air pockets. Air pockets are easily fixed with the stick thing but the extra messing around can end up adding heat to your smoothie. But just add more ice if his happens. This is only when I haven’t followed a recipe tho. It’s usually because I didn’t add the liquid first. The recipe book was so disappointing! It’s nice quality paper and binding, but in lots of different languages?! So even tho it’s quite thick, only a couple of pages for each language. I’ve been using the website and google, and then writing down my favourites as prefer to have recipes on paper rather than looking in phone.

Next level blending.
I’m no stranger to the art of blending but i have to say that I’ve never experienced a quarter of the results I’m getting from my Vitamix when I’ve used mid priced blenders...this baby is a game changer! I have raw smoothies everyday, and as a result probably bought around 4 blenders in the past 7 years, ranging from £40-£120, and not one of them could keep up with the daily use! They would either burnout and leak every time or the bearings and blades would break. Until I bought my Vitamix, I thought a raw smoothie would always have a grainy or slight lumpy viscosity ‘texture’ but I now know that this is down to inferior blenders not having the grunt or horsepower to get the job done. A Vitamix blends to a silky smooth consistency that would be fit for any newborn baby. This unit is worth every penny. As for speed and power, it’s like having a jumbo jet on a jug. In terms of noise, this unit is quiet...very quite for the output. If you crank it up to 10 it will be loud but significantly quieter than other units that boast of power. And you only have to have it on for 20-30 seconds to blend a smoothie..simple and quick. In short this unit kicks the competition. As for the price...if this is to be your go to kitchen appliance For at lest 1 to 2 meals a day then compare the price comparison to what you would pay for an oven perhaps! Save up, cut back and buy one. You’ll not be disappointed.

Incredible power but can feel cheap.
At this price point I was expecting a more luxury experience. The knobs are wobbly cheap feeling plastic, the jar is plastic (but I guess its good as it makes it light). I just wish it had nice knobs honestly, it should be a premium product and feel premium at this price point but OK whatever. I think I bought into the vitamix hype and got overcharged for this to be honest. Well what I can say is that the motor is utter overkill and ridiclously powerful and the blades can blend literally anything I throw at it, so if thats all you care about then this is it. It's also easy to clean despite not being able to take the blades out. It's well designed though, you can tell there is some good R&D that has gone into this. Really mixed emotions about this, I am probably buying something that feels more premium if this every breaks. It might not ever break though.

Great! BUT
Having subsisted with a Nutribullet that smoked and wheezed and barely got food past a well chewed consistency towards the end of its life for a number of years... this was a welcome change. This is Vitamix's entry level blender. While it will do the same job as all their other blenders, it has less accessories and added features like electronic screens etc. But I'm just after making smoothies rather than crushing ice/milling flour. Note: you don't really need this blender unless you use a lot of tough, fibrous vegetables like me, which would wear out a motor quicker on a lesser blender. It has two switches, one on/off and the other pulse. The dial turns up the speed. It's as simple as that. In my opinion - less features; less things to go wrong. It cleans really easily. I rinse it out under the tap and then fill it with soap and water and it give it a blend for a few seconds. After this it's just a matter of sponging the lip of the jug. The only problem I have with this blender is the fact that it's very easy to sit the jug in the wrong position. On occasion, I've almost filled my pants because the jug has moved DURING blending. Other than that it's great. For the above reason this is an 8.5/10.

A rugged and powerful blender that is built to last
I did my research and I knew what I wanted - a rugged and powerful blender that is built to last. From what I know cheaper blenders will do a good job too but only for a while as well as the jar being a good deal flimsier. Hence the 5 year guarantee on the vitamix compared to the one year on the cheap brands. The key things are the blades and the motor housing. Cheap brands use thin sharp blades that will dull over time whereas the vitamix use thick dull blades that maintain top performance for a long time. Secondly cheap brands have Plastic-to-plastic blender jar to motor base whereas the vitamix has Metal-to-metal blender jar to motor base. So it’s going to be a lot more rugged. Also the jar on the vitamix is a lot stronger and more durable than the jars with the cheap blenders. Finally, I like soup and I put raw vegetables into the jar and in 5 minutes I have a bowl of hot soup. It heats up by friction with the thick dull blades - again you don’t get that with the thin sharp blades on the cheaper blenders. **Edit: 2 years on It's been 2 years on and I couldn't be happier with this beast of a blender. It still works just as it did a day after purchase. You can pack it full of fruit, milk, frozen fruit and ice and it will crush them to oblivion in no time. It's just so easy and quick to produce a smoothie in the morning or after a work out. I put 2 bananas, almond milk and frozen tropical fruit mix (and maybe some frozen blueberries) and in less than 30 seconds I have a smoothie in a different class than any you can get in a supermarket. I make frappuccinos with it too, better than Starbucks. There are loads of recipes and demos on YouTube - check them out yourself.

A beast
It is simply fantastic. It seemed like too much to spend £ 350 for a blender but in the end it was worth all the money! We basically use it to do everything. Nuts butters, smoothies, soups and it all turns out great. It can reduce anything in cream. I highly recommend it! The only thing is that you must also buy the 2 liter container because it is useful for larger quantities.
