Are these brushes synthetic or Kolensky Sable

Well, I did make a video but I guess it was too long. Yes, the the brushes are really pure kolinsky sable. I don’t know the price now, but I remember they were a very good value. Sadly, I don’t use them much. Guess I should try again, but my opinion was they were not springy enough for me. I bought a really inexpensive set of 4 AIT select which comes in an adorable case. It doesn’t have a belt loop. I am not sure if they are synthetic or a blend. The brush tubes are not as good but then German engineering is in a class by itself. In the end, I bought a third set of 3 then added a fourth size of silver black velvet brushes which I adore and put them in the AIT case. Even though they will produce a nice wash as they are squirrel hair, the point is amazing. The point holds up much better than any of my kolinsky’s do, especially if you are heavy handed. I know I’m supposed to be selling you on the kolinsky. Certainly everyone should try them. Raphael #8408 will always be my favorite, but I also love Billy Showell’s new line of synthetics although they don’t come in a travel brush and are great for lines but aren’t as wide as the black velvet so you won’t get a really wide wash if you need that. I wish I could tell you how many travel brushes I have but it would be embarrassing. I am kind of an experimenter. It’s kind of a discovery/research thing with me.

Can I use them for oil painting?

Unfortunately I believe not. I am not an oil painter but a Watercolorist, even though these brushes are durable and firm they have softer bristles than an oil brush typically has. Plus I know that oil paint in very thick, I m not sure how painting with these brushes would work with oil paints due to the fact I am not an oil painter. I know that watercolor is very translucent transparent and more fluid. I see there is a product brush similar to this one on Blick Art Materials here https://www.dickblick.com/products/da-vinci-russian-red-sable-watercolor-brushes/ they are stating the brushes are good for the mediums Great for watercolors, gouache, illustration, animation, restoration, and rendering, Da Vinci Russian Red Sable brushes are high-quality brushes and an excellent value. I do not see oil paint on the list. I hope that helps!? what are the bristles made out of?

The Kolinsky travel set 2 claims to be Kolinsky bristles, but they must be synthetic. The perform soooo badly. I have other kolinsky brushes and these don't behave the same way at all.
