A lovely view from an ageing poet.
Mary Oliver was a great poet and her prose also excellent. Grounded in nature but with a wealth of other interests.

All ways Mary Oliver
The breadth and depth of these selections provide a generous feast for eyes and ears eager for a full serving of the writer and observer of the world, both human and non, but mostly non.

Long Life
As always reading anything by Mary Oliver makes me want to dance in the sunshine and run through the rain laughing. Her essays and poems bring to life the sweetness and rejuvenation that only nature can give to the soul.

She writes as perfectly as nature allows.
When Mary Oliver's books are on my shelf, I am content. Thanks to a good observer, I am carried along for each walk.

Living in Mary-Land is a good thing
It's Mary Oliver.... she never let's me down. Her writing grabs me before her first sentence has reached it's period. I could only hope for my writing to be so good...so inviting. I love living in Mary-land... always. Her images are so very clear. She invites all out senses to be tickled without knowing she's doing that... she's so natural and unforced in her approach... it's like being inside her head looking out through her eyes... only her eyes have a voice... LOVE HER!

Profound
Do you feel alienated and not know why? This book is an antidote to that. Read it slowly, savor the melded nuances of the rhythm of a profoundly gifted soul. If you allow it, it could change you permanently. There is BMO and PMO: before Mary Oliver and post Mary Oliver.

Taking me home...
As always Mary Oliver is wonderful, through her words I am able to return to simpler much more innocent world of my own youth and feel the spring sun warming the world of the little creek in my back yard on the farm.
