whenever I tried egg rings the egg runs underneath. Does this egg ring allow egg to leach out?

First, you must oil or grease the inside of the egg ring completely; (2) your pan or griddle must be hot so water dances on it when sprinkled;(3)the egg ring must set on the hot pan or griddle for at least 5 seconds before pouring anything into it;(4)add a little butter, oil or bacon grease to create a SEAL before pouring the egg into the ring.

How come the cost is so high? If you get them from the lodge web site, they are under $4.

The correct price, direct from Lodge Mfg. is $2.77. Wallyworld also sells them for $2.77 and shipping is free if "ship-to-store" is selected.

How will I know if it will fit?

In spite of being called a "cookie cutter", this is an egg or pancake ring. Eggs (up to extra large) fit fine. You can put 1 to 4 of these rings in a pan, depending on the size of the pan. Never has a problem with them.
