The Idiot (Wordsworth Classics)

A good read, shorter, literary classic by Dostoevsky. I really enjoyed this.

I’m still only 350 pages in, but I love this book. 19th century Russian literature is where it’s at. I feel like I have lived Myshikin’s l life today.

The first hundred-ish pages are pure gold. There is a mad character that is the most memorable of any book I've read because of how funny and crazy she is, on top of feeling like a real person. But after those first pages there comes one of the biggest slogs I've gone through. It's like the plot disappears, along with the character I talked about. There is some interesting conversation in there and we get to see the characters show off their depth and form relationships. Boring, but at times interesting. The book shines again during the last 5th of it, when the mad character comes back for a great ending. I loved these book because of the characters, it's a shame the plot gets too thin in the middle. I'd recommend it if you are already into Dostoevsky's work or philosophy in general. Otherwise, I doubt you'll get through it.

One of Lex Fridmans favorite book is the best reason to read any Russian literature.

My book came in a little beat up and stained on the sides but its wtv, still a good book so far :)

My granddaughter chose this book for her birthday. I live in South Africa and sending gifts to the US is prohibitive. I therefore appreciate the ability to purchase gifts for her on Amazon.

Libro indispensable para tu lectura en inglés.

you really get what you pay for here , and I mean look its a book it will last you maybe 1-2 read throughs but after it will probably be in tatters , paper is ok , cover was a bit beat up. Overall buy it if you wanna try Fyodor Dostoevsky like I did
