What is the awg (wire gauge)? (it looks like maybe 18 in the pic, but could be 16)

The cord is AWG 18, SPT 2/2 which means it has thicker insulation .045", while SPT 1/2 has thinner insulation 03". They both handle 7amps. Hope this helps....

Are the individual wires within the jacket color coded for hot and neutral?

Hi Noku, thank you for your question. The neutral wire is ribbed, and the hot wire is smooth. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call between the hours of 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM Central Standard Time, Monday through Friday at 1-800-654-8483. Thank you.

Hi C W, thank you for your question. Yes, our GE Replacement Lamp Cord is made of standard copper wire. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to respond or give us a call between the hours of 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM Central Standard Time, Monday through Friday at 1-800-654-8483. Thank you.

Would this be spt-1 or spt-2 wiring? relevance: spt-2 wire insulation is thicker. 18/2 spt-1 is rated to 7 amps, 18/2 spt-2 is rated to 10 amps.

It is the SPT-2/2 conductor /18AWG wire.
