Can you brew large batches of tea with it?

Yes. You could put tea leaf in the filter.

Is the cord really only 5 inches or did you mean 5 feet?

Sorry for the confusion. It is 5 feet long

What temperature does it store the coffee at? also is there a temperature adjustment?

It will store coffee around 170 f. Temp is not adjustable

Based on your response, it is unclear. Is there, in-fact, an auto shut-off to keep it from burning out if empty or not? It appears not.

Sorry, there Is no reset button on the bottom
