Perugina Dark Chocolate 51% Bar, 3 oz 12 Count(Pack of 1)

I have been buying this particular dark chocolate for years. To my taste, it is the best available.

All bars in this box were damaged. The chocolate was shattered, pale, crumbly, rough surfaced, and generally the most unappealing chocolate I’ve ever seen. This goes way beyond simple bloom on a bar, this is truly damaged chocolate. We’ve been buying Perugina regularly for making mochas for over a year, and this is the first time this has happened. I’ll need to look for a new brand. I can’t return these either, so into the trash they go. What a waste of money.

Normally, this a creamy chocolate bar. This order was drier like it was old.

It is always disappointing when a vendor sends product that is stale. Not bad enough to go through the process of returning it, but no longer supple, creamy and smooth.

We just opened the shipment and the chocolate was apparently left in a VERY hot environment for an extended period of time. The usual dark chocolate color was light tan, the bars were warped from the heat, and the chocolate was brittle. Sadly (my error), we should have checked prior to the 7/31 return deadline. We would have gladly returned the unopened boxes to the shipper if they paid the postage. My wife and I have been eating this brand of chocolate for 17+ years after nearly every dinner (about 2,500 bars). We've never had this happen before. I would advise all buyers to find another source. The chocolate is really delicious, at least when it's shipped properly.

They changed the ingredients and it’s not as natural as before.

I have purchased this from a store in the past but couldn't find it again. The item I received from amazon was not like what I got at the store. It was like brown chalk. I opened it immediately when it arrived. It did not sit outside at my house. The expiration date is 8-31-2023, so it is not old. My guess is it was not stored properly. I don't mind paying $40.00 for good chocolate, but this is not edible.
