ISTA IF-648 Hang-On Separation Breeder Box,clear

For starters I can say this product is really nice and handy to have, I use it for my blue dream shrimp to have their babies as I have neon tetras and a Betta (who loves to eat babies, I found out the hard way) only thing I found bad is if you leave the hose attached to it for a while and let it dry (in my case) it broke so what I did to fix this problem was to brake the grill under; only the 1 center piece and poke the hose through it as you see on the video and problem solved, I have no complain about the noise as I changed the air pump and that seems to have fixed the noise problem I can hear more the air stone than anything else. The noise you hear is my A/C

Great for the size however the plastic pieces to level the container in align to the main tank falls off easily. The guppy fry I had in there fell through the plastic grill leading back to the main tank. In the Fluval version, there are two sizes for the grill so that it can be adjusted. This would be good just to use as a separation tank but not for breeding. This is also a lot louder than the Medium Fluval separation breeder hang on tank that I purchased. Cheaper option but may not be the best for guppy fry.

It is a bit noisy with the lid on from the air forcing the water in. I nano sponge filter works great in it though. Very sturdy. The little gate is lost so I use some filter floss to block the fry from going for a ride.

This is the second time I purchased one of these. I use them as a hob refugium for my dwarf seahorse tank. The three chambers allow for mechanical and organic filtration. The water flow is very slow but is great to build up copepods for the viewing tank. The air pump adds oxygen to the water and functions as a skimmer Perfect size for my 2.5 gallon fish tank.

It came undamaged. Currently using it as refugium for my Pico reef tank. Holds about 3/4 gallon of water. I adapted a fountain pump to it. The adapter can be 3d printed found on Thingiverse Search for ISTA IF-648 I've included a picture of the fountain pump for reference.

One small baby fish happily enjoys his surroundings in the tiny breeder box. Easy attachment to the larger tank for water movement and air. Easy setup and great addon for anyone wanting to breed fish.

First one showed up with a broken piece (where the airline tubing plugs into. I got a replacement and knew it was going to be broken too. It was shipped in the box it came in with a shipping label slapped on. I didnt expect it to be broken in the SAME EXACT place though. The pieces are missing so I cant even try to super glue. It's useless. Cant put fish in there with 0 flow. I would have been better off buying a cheap net that goes into the aquarium. Disappointed because I needed this. I now have fry in my main tank......not happy

Very good product! I recommend. I read that someone said it very noisy and it’s only air no water gets in. Well the noise is there it’s not silent but as for the flow you may need to use a flow control(2$) to adjust it properly. For sure is you have to much air going in it’s louder and you have less water going in. Once it’s properly adjusted I believe it is a good product. I added I net to the water return because the holes were to large for my babies they could have gone back into the main tank. Love the concept I won’t use the in tank breeder boxes again. product is very fragile and on day one itself, one part broke. I didn't replace because it was my mistake. It's very noisy too when water is pumped through the nozzle. Other than this product looks good and serve its purpose.

Great product and was what I needed but it was a .5 cm wider then description so it would not fit the size of my 10 gallon and not enough room on back for other stuff. Perfect as hob breeder box or refugium.

Good product but the water flow tube makes noise
