Just Take My Heart: A Novel

This book was amazing, true MHC. I've read most of her books and definitely have my favorites. One is "Loves Music, Loves to Dance" and another is "Pretend You Don't See Her." Now this book is among those at the very top of my list. I loved that she had a lot going on in this book. There were so many details and so much to capture my attention I just couldn't put it down. I'm really hoping her new book coming out in April is just as good. I have always appreciated that MHC books are "clean" and they are stories I can lend to a teenager without fear of her reading inappropriate language or sexual content. I highly recommend this book!

Loved the book. If I did not have to work I would have finished it in a day. I thought it was going to be a love story but it turned out to be a really good Mystery. The story line was good and so was the Characters.

Mary Higgins Clark's latest book is a fast-paced, entertaining page-turner. Cleverly plotted with twists and turns in true MHC-style. Broadway star Natalie Raines accidentally discovers who killed her former roommate. A few days after the revellation Natalie is found dead in her home and her soon-to-be ex-husband Gregg Aldrich is suspected of the murder. But nothing happens until two years later when career criminal Jimmy Houston claims that Aldrich had hired him to kill his wife. Assistant prosecutor Emily Wallace is assigned the case, and while she is hard at work preparing, a seemingly well-meaning neighbour offers to take care of her dog. Greatfully Emily accepts and even gives him a key to her home. However, after a while the neighbour starts appearing somewhat creepy and soon Emily begins to fear for her life. The case is high profile and we follow the developments, not the least the brilliantly written courtroom scenes. There are many interesting people involved in this drama. The characterization is excellent and the question of "who did it" well enough and long enough hidden to keep the reader awake until the wee hours. What made me hold back the last star and only give the book a four, is that it does taste a tiny bit of routine. As the truth is revealed, everything fits almost too well and from the moment the suspect is hinted at, the solution is obvious and the final pieces of the puzzle neatly falling into place. Although nothing original, great entertainment and a typical MHC mystery which will certainly delight all her fans.

Mystery. With a new heart. A new case. A murder and soo many lies to unravel. A case of who killed the beautiful movie star and why. This book is a sit-in-the-edge-of-your-chair mystery. Totally worth the read

This book was fast moving and I couldn’t put it down ! I love all Mary’s books ! She is my favorite Author !I have read so many of her books and I have never been disappointed ever.

Every book I read by Mary Higgins Clark is better than the last! Just when I think the last one I read was her best the next one is even better! I'm a little bored with the "Under Suspicion" books but hopefully I find a book I haven't read.

Great book overall! The story line was evenly paced and intriguing. I enjoyed it very much and liked the development of each character. My only disappointment was I thought it ended rather abruptly for the main character. It left me feeling surprised, like "that's it?"

I bought this novel in 2009 and am just writing a review. This was just a year that I had started buying products from Amazon and didn’t pay attention that I could write a review. Mary Higgins-Clark unfortunately died in 2020 at the age of 92. She had written 56 books, which I have bought and read. about 25. If you have not read any of her books, give yourself a treat and pick up one, you won’t be disappointed.

soit on aime, soit on déteste. Pour ma part, j'adore car cela se lit trés vite, trés bien dans le train ou sur la plage. Son anglais est trés simple, pas de la grande littérature. Il y a assez de suspens meme si c'est pas du stephen king ou john le carré, on en reste pas moins captivé. Avec mary higgins clark, ce qui est bien, c'est qu'on a l'impression que ses histoires pourraient etres réelles et nous arriver....Et c'est cela que j'aime...

A new author for me, very enjoyable thriller without too much violence and bloodshed

What a great book. I could not put it down and the end was great.I always enjoy books by Mary Higgins Clark.I have? I have read all of her books.

Despite a number of amazing novels written by Mary Higgins Clark, "Just Take My Heart" is obviously the best work of hers. I never get tired of reading it again and again.

Ìf you enjoy crime how can you not enjoy Mary Higgins Clark? There is no blood or gore but page turning suspense till the end.
