Great
The last intex pump we bought lasted a year before an unexpected freeze got it. This is our second purchase. We will definitely do better next fall/winter with insulating pump. Other than that, runs great, has a timer,( a fantastic feature), and is all around reliable.

This has been the best investment for our pool. It is easy to use and keeps pool clear

Great filter but donโt overstuff if using the balls
Used the balls with it and like someone suggested didnโt stuff the filter full of them (figured kept filter from clogging like some people complain about). Used it all last summer it was great kept pool very clean.

Perfect for our 6000 gl
We love this! One of the best purchases to upgrade our pool. Keeps our pool clean and the size it perfect for our 6000 gallon pool size. Does get hot during day but ours is sitting in direct sunlight all day long. We keep it going probably 20 hours a day and it has worked perfect. No problems at all. Filled with sand and has been going since. Has lots of options on it which helps keep water clean. Instructions are super easy and install was quick. Doesnโt disappoint. Just get it. Makes it super easy and powerful.

Wish I would have bought this years ago.
I just purchased the 14" sand Intex filter after reading great reviews and searching online ratings. I have a 16' x 52" round pool that holds a bit over 6000 gallons. It goes up in the summer and gets stored away for winter. I previously had just a cartridge filter and pump for the last 7 years. I've never really been able to keep it nice and pristine, but it's been safe and decent. Until last year, when it got cloudy and pale green then bright neon green practically overnight. Took a sample and picture to my local pool place and they said drain it, scrub the pool, start over, and your filtration system is inadequate. Since it was toward the end of summer, I couldn't justify refilling the pool (Central California) so we just drained it and packed it up. Well, it started again this year 6 weeks into summer. I nipped it in the bud with balancing, acid, and a shock treatment. But I had to bite the bullet and replace my pump and filter. I received it unbelievably the next day. Fairly easy to set up, even with water in the pool. I got my pool sand from Lowe's. It is easy to run. I have not set up the timer yet. It's been up for a week now with kids playing in it daily. So far it's been great! The water has never looked so clean and clear. I am on top of the balancing act with the chemicals. I test every other day with a 5-way test kit, and keep the pool bottom clean. I also have a blue solar cover on when not in use. My husband and I were impressed with the quality of the pump, filter housing and accessories. Even the hoses it came with are not flimsy. My only gripe is that it did not come with an inlet nozzle and parts, just the outlet jet nozzle with the aerator. But we made due with what we had. I did purchase the Intex plunger valves separarely, which is a must. One other thing to keep in mind, it uses water to backwash, quite a bit. But I've only done it once so far and that was also to wash and rinse the new sand. So it might be less on a regular backwash. But I did run the hose it out to our trees to water them. So far I highly recommend this pump and filter system. I know it's a bit early to evaluate the system long term, but I will update after summer. UPDATE: The rest of the summer was great. We kept the pool up til the end of September (Hot spell in the Valley). Keeping the pool clean, using an algicide and clarifier once a week along with proper chlorination, my pool stayed pristine. I did not have to backwash very often, every 2 weeks, and not a long time, so the water usage was minimal. I highly recommend this pump.

Works great. Very pleased.
Works great. I bought this pump for my 18x46 above ground pool. I replaced the original pump that came with the pool. A cartilage filter. The sand filter is easy to use. Saves on buying and replacing filters. You do have to purchase the sand separately but itโs not bad. The pump cleans better than the original pump. Iโm satisfied with this purchase. I recommend watching YouTube videos to learn how to operate the pump. Since it requires backwashing and other operations

Perfect to upgrade the tiny, crappy cartridge filter most above ground pools come with.
We have a 16x10, 42โ deep Coleman pool we bought this summer, and all it took was one weekend out of town after forgetting to refill the chlorine tablets for it to turn green. I spent about a month and a half trying to clear the water without upgrading the filter, but those little cartridge suckers just donโt have enough power to get the dead algae out of the water once youโve killed it. I ultimately opted to drain the whole pool, scrub it down with algicide, and refill it once I purchased this pump. I do believe I got one that is one size larger than I actually need it for my approximately 2900 gallon pool, but I could not be happier with it. The old cartridge filter needed to run the maximum 12 hours a day to even come close to what this one can do in a two hour cycle, and I opted for a mixture of sand and reusable filter balls mostly because I underestimated how much sand this one needed (75lbs) and couldnโt find more locally. It looked intimidating to set up, frankly, but once I got it all out there it was a breeze physically. The programming isnโt quite as easy to setup in my experience, but once I got it to what I needed it became set-it-and-forget-it. Because of the type of pool I have, I did have to buy some extra pieces to convert the hose situation to be compatible with this filter, and at some point I will buy one more piece of hose to act as the drain hose for backwashing it (I drained it into the ground the first time, but since itโs right up against the foundation I recently had leveled, I wonโt be doing that again to avoid any issues). The water has stayed crystal clear with a winter cover over it since late September (still warm enough to swim here until December sometimes, but the cover keeps the mesquite tree crap out of it), and we had already added a skimmer basket that works MUCH better with this pump than it ever did with the cartridge one. There are certainly fancier and more powerful models out there, but if youโre just converting a simple above ground pool purchased at any big box store or Amazon, this pump in whatever size is appropriate for your water volume is a great value. I see why it was the top recommendation when I researched several places before purchasing. Granted this pump cost more than we paid for the pool, but it will make that pool last much longer with less maintenance as a result.

Intex is garbage
Hooked it all up in place of our sx1500 that came with our pool. The sx1500 wouldn't run the intex auto vacuum I purchased. Worked great for about 20 minutes, ran the skimmer and the vaccuum no problem. After 20 minutes the vacuum stopped moving and the skimmer stopped skimming. So I backflushed and rinsed and cleaned all the screens. But the vacuum was barely moving and the skimmer was no longer working. So I put the block off nipple in the other outlet. This seemed to make things work for another hour or so. Then they both stopped working. So I once again backflushed and rinsed untill the sight glass was completely clear. Then rinsed out all the screens. Now the vacuum wont move and the skimmer wont skim. So I remove the skimmer.and the block off nipple off of the two outlets to the pump. Now the vacuum works a bit but barely, goes across the pool half way then stops in the middle. I try to assist it....it won't move. The gauge on the pump has been in the yellow since we got it and I know the sand is at the lower end of the fill line. Very confused and frustrated at this point. I just want the pool clean so I can use it. This is my second pump, 3rd vacuum. I have spent more on filtration then we spent on the pool. I will never buy intex again.

Honestly a good ( and huge) pump
Pump was easy to assemble. Some tips tho. when placing, please put it where it's gonna stay cause it does not move easily with sand and water. Read the instructions carefully. Do not move the inner tube assembly while filling with sand. Should get at least 2 bags of 50lb sand to fill to proper height, not 1 bag. Honestly most of this was pretty simple to put together and the pump does actually work quite well, very quiet. I like the timer on it also. The aerator also balanced my ph level so very cool just be aware this is for pools 15' Diameter or more. Anything smaller is kinda overkill.

BUY IT!! Don't hesitate
I considered this pump for far to long. I wish I baught it a month ago. I have an 18' round bestway pool. We have a small grey 8400 gallon pump. Our pool holds just over 8200 gallons. It just wasn't moving the water much. Time to upgrade. The 2800 pump was cheaper than the 2100 so I got the 2800 on sale. It's perfect. I thought it would be to powerful however I am thrilled for my choice. The water is moving nicely now. The pump was super easy to install. I watched the video. It was easy to follow. I did purchase an attachment kit but I didn't need it at all. The hoses i have are compatible. Keeping it, as its always nice to have extra pieces. The only pieces I will purchase will be the shut off valve for the intake hoses so I dont have to use the black stoppers when I empty the leaf basket. It is so quiet I have to keep checking if its on. Great price Great pump.

Intex sand filter for pools above ground
I have a Coleman 18โ x 4 1/2โ deep has two filter nozzles and one jet filter works great almost too big shouldโve got the smaller one, but I am very very impressed. Came with just about every part except for the small adaptor hoses and connector For the filter holes, but I already had one with the original product but you can buy them here on Amazon and if you have this kind of cool, also buy the skimmer adaptor and then everything works super great.

Awesome pump!
We don't have an Intex pool, but watched a video on YouTube to adapt it to a 15-foot Summerwaves pool. We just had to buy an adapter at the local hardware store to go from one of the hoses to the existing filter on the Summerwaves pool and that was it. The rest was as close to plug and play as it gets. FYI, my hubby isn't handy at all and we were able to figure it out. Out pool now is crystal clear and inviting vs. before with just the Summerwaves filter, which is not the greatest. We left that filter in place, because it's the first line of filtration, but the one that does the hard work is the Intex pump.
