with that said it is very easy to use
That is a very small palm sized orbital sander. However, with that said it is very easy to use. It is a good electrical cord power tool that serves its purpose as a handy-dandy little palm sander. Take note: It is not very powerful. It does not have a lot of oomph or power to it to do heavy work, but it is good for light to medium jobs. Pros: The great thing about the Black and Decker 1/4 sheet orbital sander is that I can get any kind of square/rectangle sheet of sand paper, cut it into quarters (or size it to the sander pad), and then use it on this machine! It is great that I do not have to buy special sanding pads or papers for this machine. Any sanding paper will work as long as the user creates holes in the paper with the provided hole-puncher for the machine to collect the dust. The dust catcher is tiny but it works as long as you do not press down too hard. If you are putting too much pressure on the machine, the dust vacuum effect will suffer and dust will not be suctioned into the bag. It will seem that the bag does not work. However, if you do not press down hard enough it will not do major sanding. I have tried with 120 and 100 grit paper and only got slight sanding effects. It was more like coarse buffing. I have also used this without punching holes in the paper (so the suction did not work to catch the dust) but it sanded fine without any issues. Cons: The cord is not very long. So the user will have to work in small areas or with an extension cord. The picture is true and correct but I didn't realize how small it would be. It fits in the palm of your hand, and it is super light. That can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your needs. Light= Light Work. This is OK for small work. Sure, I am happy to have it but it was not exactly what I was expecting. I can certainly say that this is not for refinishing hardwood floor work. Yes, it can get into inconspicuous corners, but this tool is best for buffing or light sanding. I may find this to be useful for doors, molding, and trim work. Update: Summer 2016: It has been most useful to sand smooth rough cut saw wood planks and smoothing out repurposed pallet wood with the right grit sand paper. Conclusion: for the price it’s a good value for light quick tasks!

powerful
The Black & Decker 2.0 Amp Electric Sander is a fantastic tool for both DIY projects and more detailed sanding work. The 2.0 amp motor provides plenty of power, making it easy to smooth out rough surfaces quickly. I’ve used it on wood, and even painted surfaces, and it performs consistently well every time. The sander is lightweight and easy to handle, reducing hand fatigue during extended use. I also appreciate the dust collection feature, which keeps my workspace cleaner than expected. Overall, it’s a reliable and efficient tool that’s perfect for both beginners and experienced DIYers. Highly recommended!

this thing is LOUD!
so i've never used a sander before, but needed it to tackle some furniture for the home...i'm repainting a few items and i ignorantly thought i could do it all by hand...ha!, no way...so i ordered this, with no prior experience with a sander... i was very impressed with the ease of use...the paddle switch operation makes the job go really fast...you can have it in the unlock position and compress/depress the paddle for going between work areas, or keep it locked for longer periods of sanding...i am having a good time using it as it gets the job done so quickly and easily... the cons...*putting the piece of sand paper on is a bit challenging for me...i guess with continued use and becoming more skilled, it'll get easier... **i was not expecting this thing to be so LOUD...so my sanding projects when the children are napping/sleeping is not going to fly... ***again, i've never used a sander before so i don't know how much debris usually gets around, but despite this thing claiming to capture a lot of dust for a cleaner work area, it does alright...a lot of dust (as far as i'm concerned) still got over areas i was not working on, but some did end up in the reservoir...it was like a light powder coating on some other furniture...i really was expecting this sander to capture most of the dust as advertised, but i guess it's less than other sanders? overall, i am happy with it in that it's cut down my sanding task tremendously and is not overwhelming or at all difficult to use...i would purchase again due to this...but i hope the dust catcher thing improves...

Easy to use and well worth the price.
I love it! I used it to sand my 8X12ft deck and especially like the little dust bag on the back. I am a very old senior citizen and it was easy to figure out. A job I was dreading is now done! Now I am going to do a second hand table I bought!!

This sander is basically a tiny tornado of joy and regret.
I bought this BLACK+DECKER sander thinking it would just, you know, sand some wood. HA! Cute. Adorable. Innocent. This thing is a full-on chaos machine disguised as a power tool. First use: I plugged it in, and the sander immediately began whispering (in my imagination, but still): “Let’s make some dust… and also chaos.” I turned it on. My dog ran. The dog hid under the couch. A piece of scrap wood flew exactly three inches before hitting the wall. I laughed. I cried. I think I also accidentally sanded my coffee mug. This sander is powerful but polite. It hugs the surface gently, then surprises you with bursts of adrenaline. It’s like the James Bond of sanders: sleek, dangerous, and inexplicably thrilling. Pros: • Smooth operation: leaves surfaces so silky you’ll want to pet them • Lightweight and ergonomic: can be wielded like a tiny, civilized chainsaw • Makes dust! Glorious, fine dust! Sprinkle it on your life for fun Cons: • Will make you question your sanity after sanding one scrap board for 15 minutes straight • Can inspire sudden urges to renovate the entire house • Dog may file a formal complaint Verdict: 10/10. This sander didn’t just smooth my wood; it smoothed the jagged edges of my soul. I have now been converted into a sanding evangelist.

Slide goes bad quickly but easy to handle
The sliding switch went bad after a couple of months and loosely flops from side to side making it impossible to lock in place. Therefore, the palm switch that turns it on and off depending on the pressure you put on it, is difficult to engage or engages too easily when you're trying to put on a new sandpaper because the lock switch can not be locked into place. It just flops from side to side. Otherwise it's an easy to handle sander. However that small switch going bad makes it difficult to use. Therefore, only 3 stars.

Best home sander for regular (cheap) sandpaper!
Really great for the price. Especially since it uses regular sandpaper and comes with a custom punch for it so it can suck up the dust properly from it. No custom sandpaper discs needed! Awesome design for home use.
