simplehuman Sensor Lighted Makeup Vanity Mirror 8" Round, 5X Magnification, Stainless Steel, Rechargeable and Cordless

I LOVE this mirror! First of all, the battery life is long. I use about 10 minutes every morning and have been recharging it once every 3 weeks. When it needs to recharge, a red light blinks at the base to let you know. It probably gives you about another 10 minutes before the battery completely runs out. It's a very bright light that, along with the magnified mirror, lets you see every pore, random hairs, and soon-to-be pimples in your face. There were chin hairs I didn't know existed! How shameful for a girl... :( Obviously, it has a very beautiful modern design and won't smudge easily. It lights on when you approach within 6 inches, but turns off after 3 seconds of moving away, which some people dislike, but it reacts quickly when you approach again (at least mine does) so this isn't an issue with me. It's not just that it's a great mirror, it's that it's a very convenient cordless rechargeable piece of equipment. To those with glasses, no more uncomfortable hovering over bathroom mirrors to accurately see what you're doing. Yay! I have it on my high kitchen counter top (perfect height when standing up). Yeah, it's pricey, but it's the best vanity mirror. Bed Bath & Beyond usually has a 20% coupon offer but Amazon had placed this in a lighting deal when I purchased it (which might appear again one day). Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend it and worth the investment!

I previously had one of those old fashioned faux marble-based makeup mirrors that was serving as a dust collector on my bathroom countertop. I never used the thing because I had to plug it in and outlets are extremely valuable in my bathroom! Because I never used my old one, I wasn't sure how much I would use the Simple Human one... But let me tell you--- it is so awesome I use it every single day!! Here are my favorite qualities of this mirror in order of importance: 1. Cordless. Whoever came up with the idea to make this cordless is a genius!! You simply plug in the charging cable when needed. I've had the mirror several months now and it's still on its original charge. Talk about awesome! 2. Automatic turn-on. To put your face up to a mirror and have it automatically light up is just awesome. And it turns off when you walk away. Seriously!? Did I mention awesome!? 3. Bright. It has to be at least 10x brighter than my old dull, dusty mirror. 4. Adjustable. You can tilt the mirror to your liking but I just found out that you can raise it too!! In the down position, the top of the mirror is approximately 15" tall... Extend up the base and you can add 3 inches. I can't believe I had it for several months before knowing this!! The mirror also comes with a cleaning cloth which just tops it off. This is an awesome mirror that looks great and is functional (how often do those words go in the same sentence?!). Highly recommend this mirror - you won't regret it!

I bought this mirror on Aug 10th 2014, it charged the first time and the mirror while the light worked was great. It did last approximately 6-8wks, which was nice. By the time it was time to charge the second time, just last wk (end of Oct) when plugged in the light stayed on and would not shut-off, then after a few hrs of charging (the light seem to finally shut off), I unplugged it but then the light sensor did not work and the light never came back on. I tried turning on and off the power switch on the base to no avail. I've loved simply human products and have a lot of kitchen and bath products, that's why I decided to give this mirror (expensive one at that) a try. It's tremendously dissapointing that this mirror has this flaw, I've researched other reviews and comments and they've had similar experiences. Right now it's out of the return window (30 days) but I never expected this mirror would not function after 3months of use. I've written to the manufacture directly and reported this issue 3days back, still no answer, though it's listed they'll get back to you within 24hrs. I can't seem to file a claim on amazon either. This has been a simply painful and laborious transaction and simply wants to make me no longer want to buy "simply human" products anymore.

Love this lighted Mirror! Have been searching for a good quality, well lighted mirror for years; the choices were between some that seemed fine but cost way too much, or more reasonable priced ones that had poor lighting, poor mirrors, or both. This Simple Human product is very thoughtfully designed. It turn on automatically when you look into it, and turns itself off when you leave it...all hands free! The mirror quality is very good and the light is fine. (Although this product clearly rates a five for me if I could change anything I'd make the light a tad brighter). Can now see how my mascara application has not reached all the way to the base of my eyelashes at the outer corners; just this one improvement makes a big difference and has resulted in more eye complements! The cordless feature is another plus, I like to pluck my eyebrows in natural light so just pick this up and take it to my favorite spot without unplugging and replugging. Have only had to recharge once. It even has a simple, pleasing shape - though I 'd love it no matter what it looked like. Only thing is now I;m lost when I travel, so hope S8imple Human considers a travel version at some point. You can find less expensive mirrors but this one is worth the money to me.

Revising my review: I had bought this mirror and took it back. After searching and searching, too many of the vanity mirrors have distortion. So I went back and got this mirror and gave it another try. And have kept it. I still have to use my reading glasses sometimes to get the magnificaiton I need, however it is a great mirror. I really, really wanted to like this mirror, however after purchasing, had to return. For the price, this is just not worth it. The green/red circle light around the base that indicates whether it is charging or needs charged worked for about 5 seconds, then went out and hasn't worked since. The magnification is ok, but not great, especially if you are trying to find those stray hairs. If you have perfect eyesight, it might be adequate. Even though the light around the edge is very bright, the light is directed forward, not necessarily lighting your face/mirror area. I agree with a previous reviewer, I'm not so sure this is good for your eyes as you continue to see the ring when you close your eyes or look away to a dark area. (like getting hit with a camera flash and having that residual effect afterwards). So disappointed in Simple Human with this product. I will keep looking.

This mirror is the best. I purchased this same mirror over 10 years ago from a home shopping channel. I took it everywhere with me. Recently I damaged it, therefore I needed to replace it. Hope to get another 10 years or more from this one. The size is perfect. I love how it shows your true reflection. It’s well worth every penny.

This sleekly designed lighted makeup/vanity mirror was a gift for my wife and she truly loves this product. I chose this mirror over many others despite it being one of the costlier products on the market. But after shopping around and seeing so many poorly made mirrors with awful lighting capability, I decided on this Simplehuman model. I think it produces the brightest and even soft light output compared to the lesser models and it's modern base design looks perfect in a contemporary setting. I wasn't sure how my wife would like the sensor function as it the light will turn off within 10 seconds of stepping away from it but it is a power saver considering it uses rechargeable battery ( but can also be used via it's AC adapter/charger as well ). She actually doesn't mind it at all and she enjoys the portability of the unit if she needs to use it in different rooms. So far my only future concern is the battery life because it uses an non replaceable battery pack. Until then, it's been a great mirror and a just a nicely designed product so far.

Fantastic mirror and light-- horrible sensor. I would highly recommend the manufacturer look into a new sensor. At first the mirror worked fairly well and it would turn on as needed -- although it turns off pretty quickly unless you're constantly swaying your face in front of the sensor... not very ideal. BUT THEN, the light turned on and STAYED on! I thought wow, maybe it is working the way I wanted it to! But no, the sensor was just malfunctioning and the light ended up staying on for at least an hour while I walked away thinking it would go off. I located the manual off button at the bottom and now I have to flip it over every time I want to utilize the very good lighting that it comes with. I will be contacting Amazon to replace this. I REALLY want to like this mirror, but for such an extremely high price point, I should definitely not be having to deal with little issues like this that you'd see in a $30 mirror.

a ver, está overpriced eso está claro, pero el espejo es muy muy bueno. aumento impecable, sensor de presencia, luz perfecta, etc. lo tenía una amiga y llevaba tiempo encaprichada... verifico que es una buena compra, aunque ya todas sabemos que es caro

bello robusto e professionale, mi è piaciuto tantissimo appena l'ho visto. Rispetto ad altri modelli questo è più alto per cui non devi chinarti per specchiarti o peggio posizionarlo su un rialzo. appena ti avvicini si illumina tutto intorno con una luce che riproduce quella naturale ma molto più intensa permettendoti di eseguire make-up precisi e professional, quando ti allontani si spegne da solo, ti avvisa con una spia rossa quando sta per scaricarsi, la sua autonomia dura circa due settimane abbondanti, io l'ho preso un mese e mezzo fa circa. lo consiglio a tutti dalla ragazza giovane alla signora la cui vista è un po' calata (in questo caso ti salva la vita), all'uomo che vuole eseguire una rasatura perfetta. ottimo prodotto non potrei più farne a meno!!!!

Have wanted this mirror for as long as I can remember, had to wait for a significant birthday to receive it as it is a bit expensive. But this mirror is fantastic - I have looked at loads of magnifying mirrors up to 10x magnification and even though this says 5 x magnification, it magnifies my face wonderfully, without distortion. The light on it is simply perfect too, allowing me to apply makeup and tweeze my eyebrows to perfection - even when no other light is available in the room. My eyes sight has deteriorated over these last couple of years and I have been struggling to apply makeup confidently, especially mascara, and this has given me confidence back to have fun with makeup something I love to do. This mirror is simply the best pressie I have ever received and cannot recommend it enough. It is staying charged for up to 3 weeks and does not take long to recharge. Other reviewers say it lasts up to five weeks but then that is probably because it is only being used by one person whereas my whole family have been using it - especially my teenage daughter! I think I will have to buy her one of her own!
