Calculations in AS/A Level Chemistry

Very useful for topics like thermodynamics and equation type questions. The book has a lot of practice questions which are good if you like a challenge. Would recommend buying if you like chemistry calculations or if you need the help with your A-level chemistry calculations (the book has good guided solutions).

I teach IB Chemistry SL and HL and each chapter is full of good calculations generally with solutions/key, diagrams (Hess's Law, Born-Haber diagrams, etc.). I haven't seen a better book with this many calculations (the right kind of calculations for curriculum such as AP Chemistry or IB Chemistry) all in one place. As I inspected the chapters, I thought of several possible new labs based on what I saw. I'm really happy with this book. Keep in mind, this book has almost all calculations, not much theory - although there are end of chapter checklists. I highly recommend this.

I have really enjoyed working my way through this text. I thoroughly appreciate the approach the authors have taken. The text is slim, and introductory, yet physically and conceptually dense (in a good way...) - replete with clear explanations and examples. I have enjoyed working my way through it.

Amazing book for review. It has side notes with great tips for problem solving. And there are good load of practice questions!!
