K KNODEL Large Office Desk Mat, Leather Mouse Pad (80x40cm, Black)

Firstly, if you’re expecting a leather-like material, as stated, this isn’t the product for you - then again, I think at £12 the price kinda gives that away. I purchased the 80cm x 40cm pad in black to protect a new oak desk from knocks, scratches and spills. Initial impressions: it’s a bit plasticky, but the presentation and finish is good and it has a nice texture on it to give that faux leather vibe (note ‘vibe’ not ‘look’ ). It’s double sided like all the best vinyl... It fits on my 120cm x 60cm desk very nicely and has enough space for a 13” laptop, mouse and comfortable writing space. After a few weeks of use it still looks like new and is very easy to clean - a damp cloth is all that is needed. To address a few common complaints I’ve read in the reviews: - it is rolled when delivered so naturally will have some curl when unrolling, it takes nothing more than rolling in the opposite direction and a bit of hand smoothing to get it flat, it took no more than 2 minutes. This may be more of a problem for the smaller pads which will have less weight to them... but even then, I can’t really see it being a long term problem. - the pad does slip on my desk with reasonable lateral force, but then again the surface is a satin smooth, so why would that be a surprise. With the weight of a laptop and other bits and bobs it’s not going to go anywhere, unless you’re an extremely vigorous typer... or mouser... or a bit elbowy when you write. For the money I think you’d struggle to find anything that betters this (apart from other identical rebranded Chinese alternatives) and it does the job well. If it wears quickly or gets damaged, oh well, I’ll buy another. But truthfully I can see this providing a good service for many years. So, yes, I would recommend this.

Really pleased with this desk mat. The surface is lovely and soft, smooth enough for the mouse to glide perfectly, and it makes typing more comfortable too. It looks smart on the desk and makes everything feel a bit more organised. It’s super easy to clean — just wipe it down and it looks brand new again. Great size, great quality and a nice little upgrade for any workspace. 👌🖥️

I previously bought the K Knodel 40cm x 80cm in 2023, and two and a half years later I feel it’s honestly been amazing - no marks, no damage, it still looks new, and it’s kept my desk safe from drinks. I’ve been so confident in the mat that I never even use a drinks coaster; it just remains untarnished. So, I decided to buy the larger 43cm x 120cm version to fill more of my desk space. And for sure, it’s much better having a larger mat - I have more room for my mouse to move and it still feels very similar in terms of durability. However, from what I can see, they’ve changed the material from PU leather to what seems to be a cheaper polyvinyl chloride, which is a real shame. It’s very shiny, a little more slippery with less texture under the mouse (although still good enough), and the black loses that nice matte finish I originally loved. So yes, it’s a worthy upgrade within the same brand of desk mat, but be aware that even though the product link is the same, it doesn’t appear to be exactly the same product it once was. One negative across both mats I’ve owned is the logo. I decided to cover it, and it would be far nicer without one. Most importantly for many people, it’s extremely protective - most liquid left on the mat doesn’t absorb or dissolve, even after days. I wouldn’t buy another brand; I just wish they continued to offer the exact same material. I haven’t had any issues re smell and it flattens out nicely.

I had never used one of these larger desk mats before. I ordered one for myself to protect the cloth on the table where a work every day from home, and one for my son’s desk. (Green for me to match the table cloth and dark grey for my son’s desk.) I was really surprised at the fantastic quality of the mats; they are really well-made. We’ve both been using them since Christmas and they still look as good as new. It somehow makes my desk seem more organised and the mouse glides over it like a dream. (We leave our mats in place on the desk as they look very attractive, but they come with a very neat little strap in matching material so that you can roll it up and take it with you or pack it away.) I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to buy again and highly recommend. Couldn’t be better.

I bought this item because my desk gets easily scratched, and I absolutely love it. I really like that it is thin, yet it still protects. It is easy to place on the desk and it doesn't slip. It is also waterproof. The colours are nice too. At first I was worried that because of the material it's made of, it would smell, but it doesn't. The size is as specified. Another great feature is that even though I place heavy things on the desk that leave marks (e.g.: sewing machine), after I remove them from, the mat regains its original shape (the marks disappear). The only downside I can see is that the biggest size available is 140 cm (my desk is 160 cm), but I really liked how it looked so I bought the 140 cm. If they made a 160 cm one, I would buy it again. Other than the size for me, I think it's a great item, fit for what it was intended. Exactly as described.

This is one of my best purchases for my desk. When I first started working from home, I started resting coffee cups all over my nice wooden desk. That left rings all over it. That was very annoying, so instead of buying coasters like a normal person, I decided to look for a mat that would cover most of my desk. I found this. I got it in navy/yellow and it looks fantastic. I've had it for probably 18 months now and it looks as good as it did the day I got it. Very easy to keep clean (you wipe it) and very easy not to destroy (don't destroy it). It has a nice, non-slip texture and as a bonus, it works as a mouse mat - so you're able to throw the one you've currently got away. Excellent price, excellent product, still have rings on my desk from cups because I didn't buy it sooner.

Fed up with a tiny mouse mat? want to make your desk look a little nicer? this is for you. I think I have bought around 10 of these now. I like them, they provide a nice freedom to where and how you use your mouse, in a shared set up with a left hander there is room to move around easily. I found that it was nicer to lean and work on than your usual desk and nice to use a notepad on as well. I have 2, one at home and 1 at work, my wife has one on her home office, there is one on my gaming rig and we have just purchase 5 to go to her work as they have refurbished their main offices. Can't fault them, they lay flat, feel nice, I've had all sorts of optical mice on them without any issues. Great price too.
