MXL 990/991 Large & Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphone Bundle - Champagne

Buy two sets and you have a great set of overhead/room mics for the money. I’ve been using my first set for 20 years. Only bought a new set recently as a gift

I knew about the brand but not sure what to expect from this model. I was more aware of the Gold-35 model but, the 990 I wasn't sure what to expect but buuoooyy', when I tell you I'm literally inspired to track vocals more just @ the thought of this brand model, you best believe, and to think I got it for this price, I'm still dazed. Also, the build and look is just very attractive. Now, retracking some vocals I'd already done prior just from listening to the difference in sound quality. I record @ almost 0-vol levels because it's so sensitive that it picks up from even 12-20 inch away. I'd vote for a 10* button cos 5* don't cut it. Don't overthink it, just get it cos' this is the definition of luxury value for less pay...!!

These were the first two condenser mics I ever purchased and they continue to serve me well since. First off, they both look pretty cool, especially with the gold speckled diaphragms, also, the carrying case is very nice. They both pick up a pretty high quality sound, good enough for starting off in amateur recording. The pencil mic gets a good, clear sound. The large diaphragm mic seems to be a little muddy and overly bassy, but can be remedied with some EQing. I've used these guys for piano, guitar (electric and acoustic), bass, cello, vocals (even got a pretty good drum sound with the two of them), and they sound good. While I will be upgrading soon, these mics will continue to be part of my recording arsenal.

In simple words: they sound good. They deliver a nice, clear, undistorted sound. To me the point of comparation is against the sound source. This mics capture the sound of the source with great detail and I can hear a sound that is close to equal to the source. The price is just excellent. The quality of the product is good, under the usage I have gave to them on live sound settings I haven't had problems. I know there are other mics of different qualities and prices to compare this set but the point to me is that if the sound is good to you and your audience the goal is accomplished.

This is the best microphone we ever used. We are planning to complete our home recording studio but with a very very tight budget. I saw this and I was surprise with the price. So I googled it and as far as my research is concern, all people are very very satisfied with these mics. Anyways I bought one and got it yesterday. Me and my husband are amazed on the quality of the sound. THe accuracy of the words you pronounce, the crisp of your voice that feels like some magnet is pulling it from you. Singing is less effort now. We plug it with Yamaha 82CX mixer and yes it is a match!!! We also purchased a popper stopper for these.

Great microphone but they only shipped the large 990 and did not ship the small 991. The box only shows the 990 but the attached label shows it's the 900/991 combo. I ordered and paid for the combo 990/991. I didn't see the reviews about this before I bought it. I see they have done this on several occasions in the past. Also the screw that adjusts the mic holder to the stand broke the first time I tightened it. Very soft metal. Hopefully Amazon will make this right. They put me in touch with MXL and I'm waiting for a response. We'll see.

Por su precio el 990 es un gran micro. Muy equilibrado, buena calidad de sonido ( yo diría el mejor en ese precio) Poco ruido. Muy recomendable
