Q: are these perrenials ?

Yes it is. It's a great ground cover. Once it takes off, it spreads rapidly, so make sure you have the area for it to do that.

Q: Do these do well in shade? Did they arrive in good condition and grow well?

I planted mine as ground cover around a tree (partial shade) & they’re doing ok, but not great. Not spreading as fast as I had hoped. They arrived in moist paper towel in small packet placed in mailbox. I was surprised @ packaging, but in hindsight it was ok.
