Q: Is the digital code easy to change so the safe could be used in a vacation property?

Yes, you can actually change the code every time you use it. It is the same concept of a hotel safe. Every time you open it, it asks you for a code to close it. It comes with a key just in case someone forgets the 4 digit code!

Q: Does anyone know if the mounting holes are only in the bottom (for floor mounting) or also on the back, for wall mounting?

I have mine mounted on the wallIt has 5 holes in the back
