The Elixir Arm Sleeves UV Sun Protective Arm Compression Cover Warmer Cooler for All Outdoor Activities

We are professional tennis officials so we spend more time outdoors in the sun than we would like. These sun sleeves are a really great way to keep the sun off your skin all the way down to your wrists furthermore you can soak them in cool water and they will help keep you cool as the H20 evaporates. Another good thing is that these sun sleeves come in a wide variety of colors. This blue that I am reviewing matches the color of the USTA National Uniform Shirt perfectly. I have several pairs of these sun sleeves in blue, grey, black and white. I drive a Batmobile (Polaris Slingshot) and I wear these when I take it on longer trips again to protect my arms from the sun exposure. Now one word of caution - these are lightweight sun sleeves. They are soft but they do develop some pilling, pulls and so forth. A pair tends to last us some four to six months, longer if we aren't up in the tall umpires chair a lot and shorter if we are. So the bottom line is that we buy the sun sleeves from this manufacturer in fairly significant quantities. They are comfortable and they are affordable.. I tried sun sleeves form four or five other manufacturers (some costing as much as $30 per pair) before finally trying these. For our purposes they are perfect and I can recommend them highly just don't expect them to be a two or three year item. :-)

Impressions/ Sun Protection: Superb sun protection. I did not receive any sun on the covered portion of my arm in high altitude sun while shooting for hours. Everything else got burnt. I choose not to wear sunscreen to compare how effective these are to bare skin. Tattoo coverage: I am a health care worker and needed these to cover my arm tattoo. I have grey and black. The lighter color grey pair does a great job masking the tattoo. If you have bright colors on your tattoo I would recommend the black color to fully conceal your ink as the lighter colors reveal a slight bit of color when your arm is bent. It was not enough for my patients or co-workers to notice mine/ but if you want absolute concealment get black. Temperature: The sleeves are amazing at temperature regulation. The moment I put them on it felt like I had rubbed menthol on my arm. They are very cooling! My arms never feel hot during rigorous activity. In fact, my arms stayed cooler than any other part of my body! Comfort: Extremely comfortable! I wear these for 12 hour shifts at the hospital and forget they are even there. The compression is perfect/ not too tight like some of the brands with more nylon/ and not loose at all. They simply stay put. In a 12 hr shift I only have to adjust the top part of my arm minimally twice. There are NO seems in these so I never feel “hot” spots anywhere on my arm. Activities: I Mountain Bike/ Rock Climb/ Shoot/ Fight/ Fish/ Hike in these and they were great in ALL activities. AMAZING!! Worth every penny. If you are like me you have scoured over reviews on MANY arm compression bands and want the best bang for your buck. My requirements: Needed to be able to cover an arm tattoo/ Needed to be very resistant to the sun (high altitude sun)/ Needed them to be comfortable for up to 12hrs of continuous wear/ Needed them to be extremely comfortable/ needed them to stay put during strenuous activity.

I'm a longshoreman in southern california. I drive a truck around a shipping terminal. I would slather sunscreen all over my arms to prevent sunburn, but the sun would still beat on my skin and make me hot. I got these sleeves and they are GREAT. I wish I had gotten them years ago. I wore them on a day when it was close to 90 degrees. When I have the sleeves on, my arms are MUCH cooler. The fabric wicks sweat away and when I'm moving in my truck, I can feel the moving air cool my arms. Also, they do a good job of blocking UV rays cause I don't show any signs of sunburn. I haven't tried washing them yet. Personally I don't really care if they get dirty. Once they get super dirty I'll probably just toss them and order another pair. At only $10, I don't mind buying a new pair every couple months.

I am 6' 4" tall and weigh about 190 lbs, athletic build. My biceps are 14" (I'm only telling this cause many people are referencing issues with upper arm tightness). I love these! I am an electrician and sometimes spend the entire day working outside. With these on, combined with my Top Headwear Safari Explorer Bucket Hat With Flap Neck Cover - Olive , a t-shirt, pants, shoes and work gloves, I am totally protected from the sun. These do fit snugly at the upper arms, but not to the point where I feel that they are cutting off my circulation. When properly stretched and positioned, they cover from the top of my bicep down to the crease of my wrist. I have worn these for entire days about 20 times, and will put them on for an hour or two when I need to work outside. Usually they do not slide down my arm. There have been occasions where I've had to pull them up and reposition them, but not usually. The pair that I received did not have a logo, which I love. Also the lack of seam down the length of the sleeves make them superior to the other brands that I've purchased and tried...4 total. These do have excellent cooling effect, and my arms covered in these black sleeves feel much cooler than the rest of my upper body that is covered in a white t-shirt. I have been hand washing and air drying them so I have not had any issues with them beginning to deteriorate or fray. These seem much sturdier than the other brands I've purchased, although I don't think they'll hold up too well to heavy abrasion, and I keep that in mind when I'm moving around. I'm going to buy a couple more pairs so I can rotate them.

They block UV and also give a sense of cooling. On very humid days I could still feel the breeze blowing on my arms. For the price they do what they're supposed to do. No complaints. One thing to note, they are very light and will blow out your car window if you have them on the seat beside you. Speaking of which, I will be ordering a new pair.

- Si eres deportista y la mayor parte del tiempo la pasas bajo el sol y no quieres que tu piel se dañe, puedes protejerla con estas mangas que te permiten proteger tus brazos de los rayos UV, en experiencia personal, estas mangas siempre las uso cuando salgo en la tarde cuando el sol esta a todo lo que da, y no soy una persona a la cual le guste quemarse la piel, y estas mangas me permiten protejerme del sol y no sentir tan agresivo el calor que emite el sol, muy recomendable de mi parte, la entrega del producto fue rapida. (indica si te sirvio mi opinion hacia al producto)

Thought they were different based on the online description. Description mentioned a cooling effect, but the packaging never mentioned this, only UV protection. We have ordered other sleeves for a slightly higher price and found them to be of higher quality and had both UV and cooling features.
