The Rosin Arrived Fresh
I was surprised about the freshness of the rosin. In general, rosin is hit or miss even if you’re ordering from a premier violin shop online.Nyman’s and Carlsson are identical. I personally think Carlsson might be a hair softer, but that could depend on the batch, age and other factors. Regardless, the Carlsson I received was fresh and it came fast right before my concert. If you’re in a bind like I was, this supplier maybe an option.

It's the best
Best rosin out there. Period. Carlsson is a dark rosin that is much softer than most, but it gives you a grip like no other rosin has, and it lasts longer as well. I have used for Solo and Orchestral work, and have found it to be extremely effective in both scenarios.My only exception is Baroque, in which the grip is simply uncharacteristic. Also, it melts extremely quickly when in the car, so never leave it out there.Best all-around rosin out there.

From a 30-year professional Symphony bassist - I've tried a half-dozen different brands ofString Bass rosin, but the Carlsson Bass Rosin is the finest. It consistently givesme the best grip on the bow hair that really vibrates the strings and makes theinstrument really sing. Another plus - it doesn't coat the bow hair with a slick residuelike some other brands.Highly recommended!

Quality rosin. Extra grippy.
I was using Pop's and a friend recommended this. I think it is a little grippier than Pop's. if that makes sense. It seems to be a little stickier in getting the bow to grab the string and start the note. Still going back and forth, but it definitely works well.
