Turtle Beach Ear Force Z11 PC Gaming Headset

I was looking for a replacement for my Plantronics GameCom|1. I had been looking at headphones almost twice as expensive but I went with these because they had the best low scoring reviews. The sound quality is excellent, a long standing hallmark of Turtle Beach products. They are well made. Listening to music I'm hearing nunances and little background sounds that I could never pick out with the old headset or my desktop speakers. I have also connected them to my bass pre-amp to use just as headphones. Again, hugh sound quality improvment over the old GameCom|1. You can really tell it has the bigger drivers in this application. They are very comfortable but not in the way you would typically expect. The top pad and ear cup pads are quite stiff and when you first put them on you expect them to be uncomfortable pressure points. This does not turn out to be the case. The headset is light enough that those smaller points of contact are a huge boon after 3 or 4 hours and you realize you aren't sweating under them. The fabric on the ear cups is a nice wickinging material as well. So more than just being light they also keep your ears from turning into an infection factory. A huge plus in my book. The boom mic is great for sound quality and noise rejection. Particularly considering the price. You can really tell they put their money into what makes the product work great, not flashy packaging and advertising. It comes with a 4 contact plug that you can use with cell phones and an adapter to break it out to mic and headphones for your computer. I thought that was a nice touch. If I somehow manage to destroy these sturdy headphones I'll be buying Turtle Beach again.

This is an excellent headset for its price, the best I have used for its price bracket. I have used extensivley the Turtle Beach X12, the Logitech Clearchat Premium, the Microsoft Lifechat lx-3000, and this Z11. Why is it the best? The second best are the X12's which are similar. The x12s are designed mainly for console gaming, but they work great on the PC too. The main issue I had with the X12's were that they were amplified which I personally do not like. There is a constant quiet hissing noise in the background due to the amplifier, which may not bother other people. The Z11's get louder then my ears can handle so amplification is not needed. The Microsoft Lifechat lx-3000's were ok. They hurt my ears after about an hour on my head and the earcups did not breathe very good. The earcups like to popoff the headband sometimes too, but it was never an issue popping them back on. Also they had a very strange issue. They had a strange limited volume range. If I moved the volume slider all the way down (doesn't matter the computer or operating system I tried this on) a normal headset would be completely quiet, but these seemed like all the way down was around %33 volume which is strange. The Logitech Clearchat Premiums were crap and I do not reccomend them. One of the earcups snapped off. They sounded worse then the other headsets, and they made my ears feel terrible. I do not reccomend these. The price was right however. The Z11s are the best I have used for cheap headsets. They are the most comfortable by far (same as x12's). More importantly they are not amplified, so there is no hisssssss in the background constantly (and I think they sound a little more pure for some reason). They also use a 3.5mm jack instead of USB which I personally prefer. There is a handly volume dial on the cord. USB headsets have a similar volume dial, but it just controls the windows volume slider via software. This gives ultimatley the same effect, but the hardware dial on the z11's is faster, more accurate, and can be fine tuned better. These also have the 4-conductor 3.5mm that can be used it laptops and Ipads that use it. The mic sounds great, no issue there. It has excellent sound quality with great bass, better then the others I have mentioned. These are not 100+ dollar premium headsets. They are built cheaply to reduce costs. However I do not ever feel like I will break these. The build quality is perfectly sufficient. Overall these are the best bang for your buck if you want a good set of headphones for gaming, don't want to spend a lot, and don't want to worry a nice set getting destroyed on accident.

Headphones: I'm not an audiophile, but I found the audio quality to be quite good. I'm much more able to hear what direction a sound is coming from (very useful in first person games) than with earbuds or in-ear headphones. Microphone: The microphone is attached to a sturdy (but bendable) length of metal that allows you to adjust the microphone's location. I tend to keep it a few inches away from my face and off to the side, which keeps it from picking up the sound of my breathing, as well as allowing me to drink a glass of water. The microphone itself functioned quite well, sounding identical to a phone call without echoing or distortion. Comfort: There's a padded bar along the top of the headphones where they rest on your head. After adjustment, I found it distributed the weight evenly and comfortably, even though I wear glasses. My ears get warm after about 45 minutes, but the mesh fabric material the cups are made of keeps them from getting sweaty. Overall: These function very well for their intended purpose and price range. I saw no issues with the build quality, and was able to get them working without any issues on windows 8. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a gaming headset in this price range. Edit: 2/13/15 After having these for over a year now, I have to drop my rating from 5 to 4 stars because they aren't as comfortable as I expected originally. They're fine for about a half hour, but after that the top of my head starts to get sore where the top rests, in addition to my ears getting uncomfortably warm. I can adjust them so the weight is carried more by the cups than the band across the top of my head, but that also gets uncomfortable pretty quickly. Comfort is personally subjective, though, so others may be able to wear these for long periods of time without issue. I still think they're a good value; I just wish they fit my head a little better.

The headphones themselves are nice. They're comfortable, and have good sound quality, as well as good mic quality (from what my friends have told me). Also has a very convenient mute button. The problem is that in three of the four pairs that I've had to purchase, the sound hasn't worked on one side unless the volume is at max. This isn't that serious of an issue, but any adjustment to the sound at all can cause loud static noises. In the first pair that I bought, the sound never worked right on one side. I sent for a replacement and those ones had the same issue, so I figured I'd better just live with it and keep my volume maxed. After those ones wore out, (after only a few months of use, but I use them for several hours every day so I definitely got my time out of them) I bought a third pair (this one being because they were on sale and the cheapest decent quality headphones I could find). Those ones had the same issue (again). After a small accident involving my headphones falling off of my desk and my foot crushing them, the headphones were fine, except that the whole left ear piece had fallen off and was dangling by a wire. Surprisingly, they continued to work. However, due to their design, it was not physically possible to get the ear back on to the frame. Eventually the dangling wire bit started to cause issues, so after browsing amazon for a good pair of headphones, I found out that these had been discontinued and there were only two pairs left. The only other decent and cheap headphones I could find had to come from Korea, which would take several weeks, and I needed these within a couple of days, so I bought this pair. So far this pair has worked perfectly. I guess fourth time's a charm? Overall, the headphones are great, but the fact that three times in a row they arrived with cord issues really says something about Turtle Beach.

Ok. First off, I have never reviewed anything on Amazon before, so this is my first time. The price: $30. Cheap for a pair of headsets, but you'll be amazed on the quality you get for just $30. Turtle Beach is a brand name and when I saw these headsets for only $30 I was amazed. The sound: Great sound quality for the price. I'm no sound expert, but for the price the quality is good. There's no EXTREME BASS KICKING IN YOUR EARS but there's enough to have some really awesome sounding music. I kinda have to crank up the volume to about 30 on my computer to hear ok (with the in-line adjuster at max). Not sure if its the quiet headphones or my ears just aren't that great. The Mic: Above average mic quality. I tested it on Skype and there's no echos, choppy words, or distorted sounds. I like how the mic can be adjusted to your liking and is not fixed on to the headset. The Build: Very sturdy plastic that won't break when you bend on it, nice leather cushion on the top part of the headset. I really like the foam ear cups and the ear cups just fit around my ears with my glasses on. It's a little tight, but it's not noticeable when gaming. I go very long periods of gaming (2+ hours) and it feels like there's nothing on my head. The cord is not that long for a headset which is good for me personally, because I only game on my PC. I like how it can also be used on mobile devices. Overall, I think this a great product for the casual gamer who wants to have nice headphones but doesn't want to spend too much on gaming headphones. If you are into serious gaming, I'd recommend something a bit better than this. These headphones cater to my needs and I'd recommend these headphones to anyone.

A lot of the over the ear headphones are fairly uncomfortable. I like them because of their noise-cancellation and good quality sound though. I had a set of Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Headset that I was very pleased with and wanted a pair for another computer that maybe could do some light duty on my mp3 player with a 3.5mm. So, after reading some reviews which touted the comfort level of these headphones, I purchased them. Big mistake. I regret not buying the JVC HARX700 Precision Sound Full Size Headphones - Black and another set of Lifechats. Truth be told, these headphones are comfortable and the mic is OK. Speaker sound quality is tinny and fairly atrocious. My 12.99 JVC earbuds sound better. As does a random pair of generic headphones. I tried the headphones on several PC's, a TV, an mp3 player, a PSP and a phone. It was not defective (both speakers and all cords are operational), it just sounds bad. The sound is muffled and the headphones themselves are too quiet (and this is versus other sets without built in amps). I buy this type of headphones so I don't have to hear outside sound. This fails miserably at that. I can barely hear the sound from the games I'm playing or movie I'm watching. Not recommended. If you need a mic for PC input, buy the Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Headset otherwise, there are a bunch of other headsets in this price range that I've used that are much better (but they don't have a mic, except for the Lifechat). Heck, most generic earbuds for 9.99 sound better. Buy a lifechat and buds separately, don't be pennywise and pound foolish like I was and think something could do double duty (though since the LifeChat did a decent job, I'd figured other brands could too). This is junk and to be honest, I feel cheated. This headset should cost 14.99 or so, and even then it wouldn't be competitive in sound, you'd be paying for the mic.

After having bad experiences with previous headphones I had, I just wanted one that: -Had a good, stereo sound -Had a decent microfone -Were comfortable, being able to be used for hours without hurting my ears -And used a regular audio jack, not a USB port (I don't need fancy stuff like lights or Bluetooth) And I think I finally found what I was looking for. The Z11 perfectly fits my simple needs, and It also has some little details that I found really nice: -Its wire has the perfect length: for a PC user like me, it's short enough so it won't tangle with anything, but still long enough so I can, for example, move something behind the desk without having to take the headphones off. -Its connector is perfectly thin, so I won't have any difficulties using it with smartphones (some connectors and aux cables in the market have tips that are a little too thick, so I have to remove my phone's case to use with it). -I don't use the microfone for most of the time, so, although not being exactly annoying, it can be inconvenient to have a unused mic connector hanging around (when you use headphones with a laptop or other mobile device). This headset avoids this by having its mic connector separate from the headset. To use it, you must connect the adapter that comes with it, and then connect the adapter to the headphone and microfone ports. The adapter can also be used to get some extra length, if you think the headset's wire is too short. The only con I can think of right now is that the mic is kinda low. But this is not a big of a deal. The recording is good, getting little noise or external sounds, and the mic can easily be moved around to be in the best position. And if you plan to use it in video commenting, narration, etc. its recording problems can easily be fixed using Audacity (or other audio software). In conclusion, if you don't need too fancy headsets and want to spend less than 50 bucks, the Z11 is probably the best option you can get!

This is a cheap headset. Now that can be both a good thing and a bad thing. I'll go over the pros first and then the cons: Pros: -The headset is inexpensive. It is at the lower price point for other gaming headsets that I was considering. -This headset is extremely comfortable. I use it to play MMO games online and can keep the set on for hours without any discomfort. -The volume and sound quality are also very good. It doesn't screen out the outside noise very well, but it isn't really designed for that. Just don't get the wrong idea if you are purchasing. -The microphone is also very sensitive, which is a good and a bad thing (discussed in cons). -While customer service failed as far as warranty work (see cons below), they did get back to me which is more than I can say for other companies. Cons: -Cheapness affects quality. The left ear of the headset went out on me after a couple of weeks of playing. I believe this was caused by a short in the volume/mute housing on the wire as it goes in and out when adjusting the volume. I can get it to work temporarily by playing with the volume, but any impact shorts the connection again and I lose sound in the ear. I contacted customer support, which leads me to my second con - -Don't expect a whole lot of customer support from Turtle Beach. The company and I exchanged a few emails trying to troubleshoot the problem which led to them saying the product was defective. However, instead of handling the return and replacement themselves, they insisted that I go back to the retailer, Amazon, for an exchange??? What the heck? That's what I call "Passing the buck" if I have ever seen it. It leads me to wonder what they would have done if it had been 6 months after purchase instead of a few weeks. As always, Amazon shined like the northern star when it came to returning the item, but I shouldn't have had to involve them for an obvious manufacturer defect. -The microphone is overly sensitive. You may be able to adjust the sensitivity if you are using some VOIP software, but some of my apps didn't have that functionality. Without software controls, the people you are talking to will be able to hear EVERYTHING in the background. I was playing with some friends online who were able to tell me what my son was watching in the other room when I could barely hear it. I doubt you would be able to effectively use this in a crowded place (airport, coffee shop, etc.) unless your software has sensitivity or PTT functions. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap headset, you can get this one. It has good reviews from other buyers which leads me to believe I just got a lemon, but you should know about it so you can know what to expect. Just remember, you get what you pay for. If you want a headset that you don't have to worry about defects and exchanges, go with a higher end product. For the price though, this is acceptable.

Son muy apretados, cuadando dolor de cabeza a la media hora de uso. Ademas, en cuanto sonido, son igual o peor que augriculares comprados en la tienda del hyper chino. No esperaba top of the line claro, pero por el dinero que pague y porque son de marca Turtlebeach esperaba algo un poco mejor que los de 15 ,99 del chino. Turtle beach me has decepcionado! I purchased these to replace my broken Turtle Beach Earforce x11's which lasted around 4 years or something. Amazing headphones they were! These Z11s are just as good, except a few minor issues. There's more plastic on the frame, which isn't very bad, but for headphones that are almost a third of the price, the quality is perfect. My other issue, perhaps it will just be me since I wear glasses, they make my ears hurt after wearing them for extended periods, but I assume I'll get used to them. IMO these are the best value headphones you can buy for the price! so I say go for it.

Acquistate su consiglio di un certo "youtuber" si son confermate un ottimo acquisto. Molto più comode delle cuffie con pad in similpelle, stringono il giusto e non sono troppo pesanti. A livello di qualità audio ci siamo, buona profondità e ottima copertura della gamma medio-alta. Il microfono è di buona fattura; l'astina regolabile pare ben fatta, per ora non mi ha dato problemi. In confezione è presente il cavo 2 in 1, necessario per usare il microfono su tablet/smartphone. Consigliate

Good Headphones, work well for pc gaming - you don’t need a splitter for this is your pc has one aux slot. I bought one thinking i would but it works fine with just the one. For the price they’re great - can hurt if you wear them for too long but otherwise audio is good and mic is too.
