I’ve had this a few years now. It’s excellent. I only use it a few times a year for fixing items or adding ribbon to my kids blankets. It’s small so it stores well. It’s so simple to use. It comes assembled. I really like this sewing machine. I couldn’t get it to work one time and watched a YouTube video which told me o was threading the needle the wrong way and that fixed the issue. There’s a lot of good quality videos out there on this machine so if you have an issue it’s pretty easy to solve.

I am used to using conventional, multi-hundred dollar sewing machines. They are large, and heavy. As a matter of contrast, this machine is amazingly compact. You can easily hold it in one hand. It is very light-weight, and easy to move from place to place. A small child can do it. You can even put it in a small backpack or a regular-size lunch box/bag if you wanted to do that, and still have plenty of room available for fabrics, etc. When it arrived, I thought "It's so small - will it actually sew?" I am happy to report that it did - and surprisingly well! Now, this is not a multi-hundred dollar machine. If you want lots of stitch types, or automatic needle-threading, or something with incredible speed that is used to make clothes all day long, this is not the machine for you. But if you want something simple, or something really small, you can't get simpler, or smaller than this! It has an LED lamp to light your work, and two forward speeds - one is fairly slow - good for absolute beginners, and the other provides a decent regular pace that's about twice the slow speed. You can sew by pressing a button on the machine, or by using the plug-in pedal switch. There are a couple of unique things about this machine that would be hard to find elsewhere, at such a low price. First, the ability to run on batteries! You can actually run it on 4 AA batteries, so you can even sew in a cabin or anywhere else that doesn't have wall power. Second is the ability to sew with two top threads at once, which can really increase the strength of the stitch, or result in a colorful addition if you like multiple colors of thread. It is pretty strong. I used it on T-shirt material, and when I wasn't paying attention, went through six layers of cloth at once. I won't say the machine was really "happy" about that kind of load, but it did sew through it, and the stitches stayed even. When you receive the machine, it will be pre-threaded, and the tension for the top thread will be set for you. I would strongly advise you NOT TO CHANGE THE TENSION until you try it out and get comfortable with the machine! Otherwise, you will probably mess up the stitch quality, and you will have to experiment somewhat to get it back again. And that's pretty painful if you're a beginner. It comes with lots of accessories. Really, everything you need to get started, and more. Several thread colors on both regular spools (for the top thread) and bobbins (for the bottom thread). The machine can even be used to wind thread onto the bobbins when you need that. There is also an extension table, to help you work with larger pieces of fabric, or heavier fabric. If you attach the table to the machine, be sure to place the table ON TOP of the edge of the end of the machine, and not even with it. This makes for a small "bump" at the edge of the table, but if you attach it that way, the table will stay in place while you sew, and not slip off the end of the machine. It provides a nice working surface if you set it up properly. Finally, there is a tiny scissors, a seam ripper, and five extra needles in case you bend or break the one you're using. The most important thing you can do before using the machine the first time is to watch the amazon.com manufacturer's videos on the item sale page. There are several of them. Together, they show you, in detail, exactly how to operate the machine, and how to maintain it. The separate videos are short and to-the-point. They will answer pretty much all of the questions I see people asking in other reviews. As an example of some things addressed in the video clips, I've provided a couple of close-ups of the machine. One shows exactly how the needle is inserted - with the flat side facing the throat (right side) of the machine, and the top thread going through the needle from left, to right. The bottom thread comes up from the bottom, and is pulled through the needle plate by the top thread when you set up the machine, as shown in the video clips. The other photo shows a bobbin mounted on the back of the handle you use to move the needle up and down manually, so that you can use the machine to wind new thread onto an empty bobbin. The post to hold the bobbin is simply twisted counter-clockwise to make it pop out so you can put the bobbin on top of it, and after you're done winding new thread onto the bobbin, you can simply take the bobbin off the post, and push the post in - twisting it clockwise to return it to the non-winding position. You can even leave the bobbin winding post out - it won't affect sewing either way. To sum up, this tiny machine is a decent value for the price. It can do most repair jobs, and comes with all you need to get started. It is simple to use, and gets the job done. If your expectations match the price range, you should be very happy with this machine!

I really like how small and compact this mini sewing machine is. It doesn't take up much space, which makes it easy to store away when I'm not using it, and I love that I can easily take it with me wherever I go. Once I got the hang of it, it worked well for my sewing projects. It did take me a little while to learn how to use this particular machine, but I found a short beginner's YouTube video for this exact model that helped me understand how to operate it. My biggest disappointment is that it doesn't have a reverse function. I also had some trouble with the thread popping off and breaking while I was sewing, so it took some patience to get everything working smoothly. Overall, I think this is a nice little machine for someone who wants something compact, portable, and easy to store, especially for small or simple sewing projects. Just be prepared to spend a little time learning the machine and getting the threading right. I would recommend it for beginners who want a small sewing machine without needing a full-size machine.

This machine is complete and utter garbage. I honestly do not understand how it can be a best-seller and have such great reviews. I understand that you get what you pay for, but this is just a piece of crap. I bought it last year and haven't had the chance to use it, until recently. I am getting into costuming and had been hand-stitching for a while and decided to finally pull out the machine and put it to use. The main issue I have with this machine is that it is so darn finicky!!! It is more tempermental than any other piece of machinery I have used in my life. The tension adjustment is a deceptively simple little knob that uses a spring to pin the thread in between two metal buttons. If it is moved just a hair in the wrong direction, you will have a loose stitch or the machine simple won't move and pull more thread from the top bobbin. I have wasted a good 6-7 hours (combined not consecutive) just messing with the tension and sewing test pieces to try and get it right. It keeps jamming up, the thread breads, the stitches come loose etc. The second issue is that it is incredibly inconsistent. Once you think everything is fine and youve got it all set, you'll sew for a bit, only to have it jam up as if the tension is too tight. For me it also has stopped sewing two pieces of fabric together. Yes, you read that right, it is not doing the very thing a sewing maxhine is designed to do.I dont even know how it happened, because I sewed a hem on a skirt just fine less than a week ago, only to have it stop working today with the only thing I touched being the tenion knob. No matter what I have tried, I cannot figure this thing out and get it to sew two pieces of fabric together again! I have looked up several tutorial videos, how-to pages, and gone back to the instruction manual (which is not very explanatory or helpful with troubleshooting) and nothing seems to explain why this machine is so terrible or even give a hint as to how it can be fixed. I am hoping that perhaps I just got a faulty machine and that is why everyone else has so much with it. The only pro is that is small enough and made of cheap crappy plastic so that when you chucked it at the ground like an NFL player who just scored the winning touchdown it will shatter into millions of pieces!!! (I haven't done that yet, but im anxious to try!!!)

This is an excellent little sewing machine for beginners which would include me. I bought a hockey jersey and wanted to shorten the sleeves about 2 inches too. A tailor wanted $50 to shorten it so I bought this machine to try out. Did a bunch of practice on cloth after setting it up and it turned out really well. It has some limitations such as the ability to run the machine with the foot pedal as various speeds and could be a little bit better, but it does work. The instructions are reasonably good, but it would be valuable if they provided links to videos on how to set up the actual stitching overall for very basic sewing and course with this machine you sort of get what you pay for it absolutely does the job and I will probably use it again. Go Sharks!!!

I will say that overall I am disappointed with the product, and wish I had bought a more capable one. I purchased this sewing machine mostly to do fixes and adjustments to clothes. I am not doing major sewing projects - if you are looking to sew longer lengths with thin fabrics, this one will probably do fine. But for my purposes, it fall far short. The first issue is that the motor is very weak. While it claims to go sew through many layers of cloth, I found that multiple layers of even thin cloth soon stopped it. (Though I was still able to hand-crank it to get through tougher areas, I don't think they recommend that.) The fact that is has no reverse is also disappointing, though to be fair they do call that out in the description. The biggest problem for me was actually the presser foot. Even when lifted up, it gives barely any clearance, so any attempt to sew thicker cloth or layers of thinner cloth were stymied simply because you could not fit them under the presser foot. (Even if you left it in the lifted position.) That made it useless for any work where you were trying to go around seams, as they would be too high. Some other reviewers have complained about the thread tension, or the little table part collapsing... those actually didn't bother me that much. Sure, they could be annoying, but they were easy to work around. However, the physical inability of the machine to work with any but the thinnest of jobs meant that it did not meet my expectations. Your mileage may vary.

I am so impressed with this little machine. I am so used to just stitching everything by hand, but lately I have quite a few more items that I’ve needed to make some alterations on, so I thought for now I’ll just start with this. I’m 56 and I’ve not used a sewing machine since I was 15-16 yrs old, so basically beginner. I literally just picked it right up, read a few instructions and off I went. It is really already set up for you, has safety features in place so not to sew over fingers haha, has the cutest little foot pedal that works. (Now I have pretty small feet, sz 6, so not sure how a larger foot would work) but also has a button on side for automatic sewing, etc. I just love it! It also comes with a pretty good starter kit of empty bobbins, threaded bobbins, and quite a few small spools of thread and accessories to get started. I was not paid for this, not given this product for a review, just was impressed and wanted to give a review.

This seemed like it would be a life saver for a project I was working on— but after about three rows of stitches, it became clear that was not the case. It went well at first, but started jamming after that. The tension would not remain consistent no matter what I tried, and the spoil jammed on its mount so hard that I had to use pliers to pry it off. It’s possible there was a special release method that would have made that easier, but I don’t know, because it doesn’t say anything whatsoever about removing the spool beyond, “remove spool and replace with your new choice.” Even after I did get the first jammed spool off and replaced it with a new one (that had not been bent from prying it off), the tension wouldn’t hold, and the spool would either be too tightly mounted to turn properly, or so loosely mounted that it flew off at me instead. After those first successful couple of rows, the stitches started not catching from underneath, and I ended up with several rows of knotted and skipped stitches, which were then very difficult to remove. I really don’t think this was user error, since my first few rows went fine; and I didn’t change anything about my method until I tried to swap out the spool, after the first one had already stopped working. Overall, very disappointing. The rows that worked out looked nice; the process of threading the machine was very straight forward and quick, and I was able to use the included feature on the back to successfully wind a new spool when I did want to replace the one that stopped working. However, even after reading the “quick-start” guide, the full instruction manual, the resource that their trouble-shooting QR took me to online, AND the customer support on the Amazon product return page, I found no way to fix this tension/spool issue. With the tension so tight it kept snapping and no further instructions about why the spool was jammed, I spent hours longer on trying to make this product work, and ended up doing it all by hand anyway.

Tl;dr A great home and portable sewing machine for occasional sewing work. Look pics for size comparison. Pros: This machine is not heavy and support using 4 batteries to power it. It is supper portable and can be used any where at home. This machine can work very well as an occasional sewing machine. It can handle normal sewing work easily and the results is satisfying. Easy to use. It is quite easy to set up and stitching the cloth easily. There is also a foot paddle which can leave your hands free to control the cloth. Cons: I would expect it can have more ways of sewing, like sealing the edges. It is may slow down a little bit when sewing denim cloth. There are some sharp edges which should be avoided during manufacturing.

So let’s start with I have never ever sewed a thing in my 46 yrs on this planet. I had two winter jackets that needed new zippers put in them my old Helly Hason and my reflective winter work jacket. So I bought each jacket a zipper and bought this sewing machine . Let me tell you this thing is tiny and it’s fun but can be a pain as well if your like me and know nothing about this . I kept snapping the thread about 4 inches into the sew and have to restart again. I think the tension screw was too tight maybe. But either way I was able to get both zippers in my jackets. Not the nicest jobs I ever seen but it worked. Few issues with the machine I had was it’s so small it has no weight to it so it moved all over the table . I used two sided tape to hold it in one spot. Second in the thicker parts of jacket the needle wouldn’t go all the way in I had to turn by hand to get it through the thicker parts . And no reverse kinda sucks . The cool things tho it runs on batteries or plug in power and has a foot peddle or push button on/off . Also has cool little light by the needle so makes seeing a litttle easier. And the two speed is cool as well I just used low speed. I haven’t had to spin thread on a bobbin yet as I haven’t no clue about that process.
