how do i know if the keys will work on my doors

In my experience they work on original mortise locks. They didn't work on the one door in my house with a newer mortise lock I purchased in Home Depot

They did not work on my old dresser draws. Take a photo of the lock, and try an old hardware store, if you can find one. A former coworker who lBrooklyn tolde some time ago that his local hardwarestore csrried. them.

My home was built around 1900. I know it takes a notched key. Will these work?

There’s no way to know but to try them. I did and they didn’t work for my lock so I took the lock out of the door (just a few screws) and brought it to a locksmith. They made keys that work for $20 each.
