Q: Can i charge the battery while this is hooked up?

Hi, thanks for your enquiry. No, the battery protect is one way current only so needs to be attached to your 12V loads and not to your battery where it would receive bi directional current which will cause the battery protect to fail

Q: Can you adjust the charge amps below the 65 amps?

I think you're misunderstanding what this device is for. It protects the battery from going flat (<10.8v) and can handle a 65amp currenc.

If you want to use the capacity of the starter battery, we would recommend to use a battery to battery charger rather than a battery protect.

Please note - this battery protect product is suitable for one-directional current flow only. Do not install in between battery and battery charger except for in specialised systems.
