A man named Pilgrim discovers a book, and the more he reads it, the more he is convicted of sin and judgment and a burden begins to develop on his back. Obsessed with discovering the truth and escaping his town, the City of Destruction, Pilgrim ventures outside the forbidden borders and begins his journey to find a Celestial City ruled by a good and noble King, meeting friends and foes along the way. Review: Right up there with Narnia: JUST GET IT, You won't regret it - Don't zip through the engaging introduction by Kristyn Getty. This is my favorite adaptation of this enduring classic, bar none. Beautifully scripted, voiced and animated, ethereal soundtrack, well paced storyline and absolutely family-friendly. I love a good Christian movie, and I'm glad there are so many quality choices now. This one zoomed to the top of my list. The first time I watched it, as soon as it ended I watched it again. I;m sure I;ve watched it at least 6 times in 3 months. It's my go-to when I want to immerse myself in a rousing, uplifting and affirming story. Last fall, my 16 year-old stepdaughter's phone remained dormant on her lap throughout the whole movie: unprecedented. When it was over and we offered her a copy for her own, she actually yelped (like, with joy) and grabbed it from my hand! When her 19-year old sis came to visit for Christmas so we could meet her boyfriend, they were both fully engaged by it, too. We gave a few as Christmas presents, and I'm sure they'll be the most enduring gifts we gave in 2019. As far as younger kids, I think you're fine as long as they can handle Chronicles of Narnia and its rather intense moments involving Aslan. There are intense scenes including an epic battle, but no graphic violence, no profanity, no nudity. It is a ripping good watch whatever your age. If your child can handle Narnia, they'll love this Pilgrim's Progress, too. Watch it with them, and enjoy the springboard it easily provides for discussion of many faith points. We spend so much on Disney. Invest a few dollars on this, too. We now own several copies, 1) as backups in case I wear one out, 2) in case it goes out of print [please, no!], and 3) to loan out to friends and family who are curious about Christian films. Among the 50 or more titles in our home ministry video library, this is my current favorite: right up there with Do You Believe, Woodlawn, War Room, The Nativity Story and of course, the Narnia franchise. If you want to give your kids something better to model after than pretty little liars, cheaters and the like, I encourage you to consider starting your own home library with THIS movie. Finally, to any who are seeking to learn about the Way of Christ, this is a thoughtful, beautiful and very entertaining presentation of what it truly means to follow the King. Review: Extremely satisfied - Great Movie (the scary, satan/ demon scenes are a bit too scary for small kids) but the picture and everything else is excellent. The price from this seller was great and the movie came in excellent condition.

Enhances Your Life
My favorite story. Great work with animation! If you never collect it to Christianity, you will still benefit. If you do, it enhances your faith walk.

Packed with spiritual references
This may be an animation film, but it's packed with spiritual references. Really liked it.

The best film adaptation I've seen
This is a great adaptation of Bunyan's book. My roommate and I tried several film versions, all of which were terrible, before settling on this version. While it is clearly made for children, it doesn't talk down ro the audience, and adults can enjoy the story as well. The only problem I saw was they did depict Christ in his heavenly Glory, which made me feel a little uncomfortable because of the prohibition of making graven images. I would have preferred if they just choose to show the pilgrim during that conversation, but each individual is going to have to weigh their own conscience on that matter. Ultimately, I would say that it is a very good adaptation of the book, and would highly recommend showing it to your children, or watching it yourself!

A great movie
I have never read the actual book. But after seeing this movie I plan to. Explains the gospel in very simple terms and can be for adults and as well as kids.
