Easiest tool for determining titratable acid in wine musts.
I've been making wine for 20 years using the other method of counting drops of reagent into a small cup requiring one to judge when the color of the wine must changes. The old method was tricky and tough to use. This Accuvin test kit makes the process a snap with pre-measured reagent and an easy to read color scale. My only suggestion is to let the sample and reagent sit for several minutes for the chemical process to complete and render a final color to compare to the scale. You will be able to get a stable and easy to read result on the color chart. I will only use this test kit from now on.

Easy to use
I give them a 5 because of the product and the packaging. These are hard to find in this configuration for smaller home wine makers. The test are very easy to use and come with easy to read instructions. 5/28/13 -- I am down grading my review because of the short expiration date. They came with less then 2 months left and I had to throw most of them away. I think I will try ordering directly from the MFG instead of through Midwest next time. I really like the product.

It is a nice guess however
This kit ranks right above using ph strips which I find worthless. The numbers are never accurate The next step up would be to buy yourself a TA kit with cost about $15 dollars and shipping. this is a bit longer to do but will give you a much better reading. If you want to go the next step from there, buy a ph meter which can do both , ph and TA. Amazon has several on their site. They go from about $45 to $120 on the average. I have a Milwaukee 102 and it works very well. If you are only doing a kit which usually gives you the ph and Ta or a few batches of wine, the kit will do fine. But if you intend on doing more than 5 gallons a year and can afford it, you might consider getting a ph meter.

Chemistry made easy.
Easy to read results. Quicker than doing titrations. Convenient but a bit expensive.
