Thermistor Probe, Pentair Minimax NT

Excellent. I saved a bunch of money not having to get a service call and the additional markup. Easy to install if you are handy.

My Pentair Mini-Max NT was acting up not too long ago. It wouldn't come on to heat the spa or pool as the temperature it was reading was way too high. I didn't know for sure what was wrong with my heater, but had a hunch that maybe the thermistor probe had gone bad. Since I figured it wouldn't hurt anything if I replaced the probe and was wrong, and since it's a pretty cheap part, I decided to replace it. Turned out It was pretty easy to replace the probe once I was able to get the main heater cover off. (Getting the cover off, however, was a PITA). Just took out the old one with a wrench, cleaned off the hole and threads, and replaced new one with some Teflon tape. My heater now works like new.

Heater hadn't been used for months and when we tried it didn't come on and had an Err message on the display and the Service light was on. Manual says contact service tech but further research said it's normally the thermistor. If it wasn't that it would most likely the control panel circuit board which goes for around $400. Cheap part for troubleshooting and super easy to install. Fixed the problem. Just note it didn't come with plumbers tape but I always have some at the house.

Pentair MiniMax NT diagnosis steps. Turning the heater to Pool gave a green Pressure light so there was water flow and the pressure sensor was working. No other lights on the front or back of the control board. No voltage from the High Temp sensors, but bypassing them with jumpers did not do anything. Next was to check the resistance of the thermistor, which read zero, so decided to take a chance on a $30 part. Like the others said, replacing the thermistor took 5 minutes to unscrew and reinstall with some plumber's tape. FYI, to remove the top, unscrew the two middle screws in the vent gate and then pry up the corners of the cover which is held down by four pins (they are just held in place by friction and some springy metal sides). The heater was back up and running! Bought from SOSpools and received in 2 days (but I live just a two hour drive from the company so your delivery times may vary).

A genuine replacement part for a Pentair swimming pool heat pump heater. Once replaced, easy to do, the service light went off and the heater started the sequence to heat the water. Make sure you disconnect the power and release the water pressure before opening the outer case of the heater. I just ordered a backup for when this part fails again. It is the most replaced part according to the Pentair service rep!

I purchased this for an old Minimax Nt pool heater that wasn't cycling past the pressure stage at start up. The unit would turn on, read low, then shut down. This is one of the most common problems with pool heaters. Thankfully, it is very inexspensive compared to the other components. On my heater, the repair took less than 5 minutes and could be completed by anyone with the most basic of repair skills. Shipping was fast and the heater is running like a champ!

Perfect fit. wires on this one are about a 26-28ga. wires on the original in my heater were 36ga, very thin and falling apart. Plus mice seem to like the thin gage wire, they chew it up and use it for nesting. Good quality, installed in a snap and fixed my issues with the heater not igniting. Fired right up after I installed it.
