Art History (5th Edition)

Excellent content! Great quality book. But it is VERY huge and heavy. If your professor offers to upload scans of the textbook for you, take the offer and don't buy the book. Unless, of course, you want access to its beautiful range of knowledge. Then by all means!

Thought I was ordering a larger book with more chapters. Got this one instead which only has 6 chapters.

It weighs about 500 pounds, when I carry this to class I can feel my arm muscles building. Really great if you are looking for an extremely expensive way to gain muscle while also learning about how the paleolithic people used animal fat to get the dye to stick on cave walls!

This book is very big. It wasn’t in good conditions but good enough to help me through the semester.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD ON KINDLE FOR MAC. Kindle app for Mac is really painful to use, the opposite of ergonomic, terrible. Amazon leaves it deliberately bad to encourage purchase of actual Kindle device, which I hear is also bad.If you download the ebook, you will spend more time manually adjusting the zoom and clicking and dragging to different parts of the page than you will actually spend reading, because it is the only app for Mac that doesn't have trackpad zoom enabled and if you try to scroll to the next paragraph it will instead start turning pages and no matter how much time you waste getting back to a page, you'll keep doing it.

I appreciate the illustrations they are very good for the course. This book is huge and very heavy...thank God I don't have to carry this book to class. This review is in my daughter's words...

Great book! It explains art in a way that makes it interesting to read, and the pictures are high quality.

The book in itself deserves five stars, but as I have previously communicated to Amazon, it is sold as including on-line mobile access, which plainly is not the case. I have been informed that Amazon has been in contact with the publisher, Pearsons, about this, but I have not been informed about their reaction.On Amazon's website the faulty, misleading information is unchanged, in spite of that more than a month has passed.It seems, when looking at Pearson's own website, that one has to pay a very expensive additional fee to get the on-line access that is presented as included.

I found it to be a comprehensive and excellent collection of art history. The reproductions were of good quality and it is well written and understandable. The only draw back is its weight. You won't be carrying this one around.
