You need to have the Nunchaku length (just) longer than you'r Fibula length. For myself, I use a '13 " length Nunchuck. (It needs to be a little bit longer than your forearm). That way, your elbow won't get hit. My advice: practice on 'dummies' if you can, otherwise, just do your routines outdoors (over AND over). Practice makes perfect, I've been told, and although I'm pretty good, there's ALWAYS room for improvement. Good luck !
