Kit contains 3 fun sensory activities
My two children had a blast with this kit. I would not call this a science kit as there are no scientific explanations for the activities. Instructions are on one sheet and easy to follow. The three sensory activities are making soapy slime, making monster head shaped gelatin soap, and a bubble putty scrub. The bubble putty scrub is just like the bubble bath play dough you can buy at Lush stores. The soapy slime is made from tapioca starch and liquid soap. You can add optional fragrance and color to it and then you scoop it up in the flexible monster head squirter and it "spits" out the slime. My children love doing this. Everything you need is in the kit except optional fragrance and oil. The kit includes 3 food colors which is nice. Kit also contains about 6 T of liquid soap, which is enough to make 2 batches of monster soap jellies, 1 small bubble scrub putty and one batch of soapy slime. The gelatin monster soap jellies were easy and there is enough to make 2 batches ( 8 soaps). The monster soap jellies are not like regular soap bars. They are firm but wiggly like jello. The last activity is to make one 1 small ball of scrub putty that children can use like soap in the bath. The scrub putty also will not harden, it is meant to be the consistency of soft dough.

Great little science experiment with kids!
The Scientific Explorer Gross Clean Science Kit is a great idea for a household that doesn’t necessary have all these items laying around and your child wants to make slime. This is also great for gift giving! It’s a great concept, and a ton of fun. My daughter had a blast making the slim, and what I really liked is its all ingredients we have in the house, so when we run out of of the kit ingredients, we can use our own household ingredients and they easy to buy at the store. I like that this kit comes with the measuring cup and the measuring spoon too. Its truly perfect because a lot of families do not make the way I do and would not necessary have these items in the house. I am including pictures of the box contents, along with the different stages of creating the slime. My daughter picked red but it looks more pink, though I don’t think she will care. In the end the slime did not come out like we thought it would, but it could be human error. I will add to this review once we try it again. Either way it was a fun activity to do together!

Basic kit with no science
My son really loves this kit. He had a lot of fun mixing up his own bath gels. It comes with a plastic mold and all the ingredients you need for mixing everything, even the food coloring. The only thing listed in the instructions that is not included are essential oils to add a scent to the bath gels. It did take longer to dry than listed in the instructions so do be careful of trying to get them out too early. They were tricky to remove from the plastic. Next time we might try using more of the oil in hopes it comes out easier. He really had fun using these in his bath and having the water change color. He really enjoyed the scent the oils we added to the gel added to his bath. Unfortunately I do think the name of the product is a misnomer as there is no science to be found in this kit. Sure it could be chemistry in the sense that you are mixing things together but there is no explanation at all about this. I’ve used similar kits aimed at a younger audience that had better information included so the lack of any information is dissapointing. It only comes with a two page sheet with the simple instructions and a few pictures. It does not even explain anything about what you can make in this kit. What exactly is bubble putty scrub? Is it really meant for cleaning? Will soapy slime dissolve in a bath? It really should have more information included.

Fun for Kids and Adults
Scientific Explorer Gross Clean Science Kit Initial Thoughts: Couldn't wait to have fun with my kid. Amazon Focus Points: n/a Final thoughts: This is the type of arts and crafts project that is easy and fun to do with your child. The mess is easy to clean up - it's soap after all. You have to heat up the mixtures to very high temperatures, so the major safety concern is keeping your kid away from the mixture until it cools; as a parent you should be able to manage this :) I just let my kid do what they want for arts and crafts (after I give them a little guidance), but micro-managing how they create is not how I spend time with my kids. They have fun I have fun and smile because my kid is having fun. There is more than one project and enough ingredients for more than a few projects. You'll need water, a microwave safe bowl, and a microwave. (mitts too) Safety first! Highly recommended if you like/want to spend time with your child. Glad to review this product!

Lacks good instructions
We have had good experience with the Scientific Explorer kits in the past, but this one was nowhere near as good as the others we have tried. First it claims to have multiple things to make, but it only has instructions to make two. Even the instructions it comes with are not great. I had to search for videos to find out how to make the slime and could never figure out how to make the other stuff. You have supplies in your kit that you don’t even know what they are used for since none of the two experiments contain those ingredients. It was disappointing to my little boy. You are paying for a squishy octopus like guy and the ingredients to make some cheap soap and soapy slime. Don’t waste your money. Choose another one of their kits instead.
