You Are a F*cking Awesome Mom: So Embrace the Chaos, Get Over the Guilt, and Be True to You Review: A funny, honest book about motherhood! - This book is AMAZING! There is nothing else like it on the market. This is a book for MOMS! Every mom and soon to be mom needs this book. You will not regret buying this book and making time to read it. I wish this book existed when I had my daughter 6 years ago. Leslie's book is refreshingly honest about the transition to motherhood. The author covers the transition to motherhood with true stories, raw emotion and humor. At the beginning of the book Leslie explains that we as moms cannot truly prepare a pregnant woman for the crazy transition they are about go through. Now we do not have to! Do yourself a favor and buy them this book. Her honesty about the challenges she faced as a new mom is so easy to relate to. As you read her book you feel more normal. I have been laughing out loud and even reading parts to my husband. I hope you enjoy it as much as did! Review: A MUST READ for new mamas!! - As a new mom, this book was everything I needed to hear!! The author did such an amazing job telling it like it is- no sugar coating- just real and raw thoughts and feelings. Reading this book made me realize that I'm not alone and this parenting thing is challenging for other people, too. As an OCD planner I read alllll the baby books while I was pregnant, but never did these books once address the transformation that YOU would be going through when you become a mother. Although I think this book applies to all walks of life- I think if you are like me- a 30 something who carefully planned out your life ( i.e. go to college, have a successful career, get married, travel the world, buy a house & then have a baby) you might find that adjusting to this new mama life will rock your world, too. As the author writes in the book (and it makes SO much sense!) you spent the last three decades figuring out who you are as a person and establishing yourself in the world. And then all of a sudden your world drastically changes within minutes and you soon realize you have to mourn that person you once were and try to figure out who this new person is. For me, this was difficult to verbalize and even understand how I felt, so reading this book truly helped me decipher my thoughts & feelings and be able to better deal with them and communicate them to my husband, family and friends. After I read it, I immediately gifted it to all of my new mama friends. Highly, highly recommend!!!!!

The lifeline every mom needs to have
Perfect baby shower gift for any mom! I'm so glad I had this book to read while I was pregnant with my first baby and now she's here I will go for round two. Not only is it honest and sometimes raw but hilarious and loving. Leslie doesnt hold anything back and talks to you like you hope your friends would. Honestly I wish some of my friends had told me what to really expect the way Leslie writes in this book. And most importantly knowing these things means you know YOU ARE NOT ALONE/INSANE/UNHEARD. For a new mom that is a lifejacket like no other in the sea of sleepless nights and neverending days of denied naps. If you are not a new mom...this book will still speak to you because you will always be a mom.

Must read for moms, moms to be and those that wish to support them.
This book is a must read for any mom, mom to be or partner supporting the mom in their life. The author gives an honest account of what motherhood is really like. We were brought up being told we can do it all but for centuries the “village” has always helped mothers. We look weak if we ask for help but lack the support that previous generations have. This book speaks to the absolute joy, isolation and struggles that new mothers face. It is so refreshing to read a book that focuses on the mom’s well being after birth as that is so commonly forgotten. I am so happy I came across this book and it will be my new go-to baby shower present for my expectant friends.

Awesome fast read for new moms
So much of being a new mom is uncertainty - are you doing things right? Is your baby okay? Are YOU okay? I found this book immensely helpful (and hilarious) during long nights up feeding and pumping when I felt like no one else was listening - or cared. It gave me confidence and a chuckle when I needed it most, and made me feel like even on my worst days, my baby barely noticed the difference - so I could just chill out. This is an awesome gift for a baby shower, new mom, or even seasoned parents starting over with another newborn at home. Leslie's no-nonsense advice and honest experience is refreshing and funny, and I'll probably read it all over again when #2 arrives!

Fun read, will definitely pass along to other mamas!
Fun read with honest opinions and personal stories that are relatable! The book can be redundant at times and some of the points, which I understand are personal and subjective, I disagreed with. For example, her opinions on supplementation and stating that the baby was “starving” in the second day of life, rather than cluster feeding, just because her milk hadn’t come in yet, which is normal. Overall, an entertaining read that makes new mamas realize they are not alone! Whatever the woman’s opinions, fears, and strengths this is an empowering book that makes one realize that no one is alone in this!

You need this book - It. Is. Amazing.
This book is just SO good. I'm a new mom and have gobbled up what seems like EVERY parenting book I could find, desperately trying to prepare myself for motherhood. In case you wondered - THAT did not prepare me. THIS BOOK would have prepared me. Sure, motherhood is beautiful and what a miracle it is to make life and all that, but most of the time it is NOT beautiful or a miracle. Most of the time it's just hard and Leslie somehow finds a way to tell you that while also making you feel like you are 100% capable of raising a well-adjusted human. For months I felt very alone on my journey into being a mom, but within the first few pages of Leslie's book I felt like I found a friend. An actual real person who GOT IT. Someone who would pour out a glass of wine with me and sit on the couch to hear the real talk of my day, and then fervently remind me that I've got this. I am now buying 10 more copies for my pregnant friends, new mom friends, and upcoming baby showers. It is that good. TL;DR: You need this book. Just buy it already. You absolutely will not regret it.

I laughed, I cried, I threw a shoe at my husband's head
I was going to write this review about how I wished this book had been written before my two munchkins (ages 5 and 1) were born. It's true that I would have been so much better equipped to manage the "crippling" loss of identity, the heartbreak of leaving my baby for the first time upon returning to work, and the all-encompassing nature of breastfeeding. However, after finishing the book, I will tell you that this book is for ALL MOMS! It doesn't matter if you're pregnant, in the 4th trimester, or well into the toddler years. This book will touch a nerve, make you laugh, make you cry, and have you cheering until the very last page. One of my very favorite take-aways is the reminder that I'm allowed to be my own woman AND a mom. Another of my favorite "ah-ha" moments is that you're allowed to have two conflicting feelings, and one does not beget the other. I'll be gifting this book to all of my amazing mom friends this holiday season!
