Natural Oil Finish One Step Protection

I used this on a woodworking project and was happy with the results. It was easy to apply, soaked into the wood well, and brought out the grain nicely without making the finish look overly glossy. What I liked most was the natural look it gave the wood. It enhanced the appearance without making it look artificial or plastic. Overall, a good product that gave me a clean, attractive finish and I’d use it again on future projects.

Great product that hides scratches while at the same time protects the furniture from cracking. NOTE: This can not be applied over a polyurethane type finish. That would require sanding to remove the old polyurethane before applying the Danish Oil. The Danish Oil provides a hard drying satin finish which helps protect against scratches and water. If you get a scratch, simply rub on some Danish Oil and it disappears. Easy to apply.

Perfect stain for matching aged/yellowing maple cabinets! 15 years ago our clear coated maple cabinets were great. They are still great now, but natural aging for maple tends to yellow/orange them up. After putting in wood flooring that wasn't the same height as previous floor, had to remove and replace the base trim with new maple to account for the height difference. I tried a lot of stains and mixes of stains! A couple coats of this, let it sit for 3 days, throw some clear coat on it. Pretty happy with how close the match is.

Watco is a reliable product that produces a nice protective finish to wood in need of nourishment. This can was used to treat the walnut dash fascia on my 1976 Triumph TR 6. I’ve been using Watco since junior high school when my wood shop teacher introduced it during a project.

Excellent

I have used this stuff for years, but it is getting hard to find lately. I was happy to find it here on Amazon. Very easy to apply, just wipe on a fairly heavy coat, let it soak in for a while, then wipe off the excess. This is a penetrating finish that soaks into the wood, not a finish that sits on the surface like lacquer or varnish, so if you are looking for a glossy finish, this won’t work. But if you want a hand rubbed, oil finish, that doesn’t streak, goes on quick, very easy to apply, dries fast, and doesn’t give off strong fumes while it’s drying, this is what you need. Comes in several colors too

I applied this with a fine nap roller on oak veneer, wiped the excess and applied 2 coats using their instructions. Let it cure and outgas for a week. I later lightly removed any defects / nibs with synthetic steel wool, wiped with alcohol/water to remove any traces of oil. Then sprayed some dye based toner with a water borne carrier to get a deeper yellow-orange color to match the solid wood doors that were 25 years old. Finished off with a water borne conversion varnish (about 6 light coats). The project was large (nearly 10 ft long). The WATCO oil allowed simple foolproof application to get a consistent color across the board. The toning took some care to maintain the consistency. The project worked very well. (2) cabinet tops were prepared in tandem. No rub on-oil stain would have performed as well on such a project.

The guys and I in our Woodshop group love this product. Easy to apply, I like to use a piece of clean old T-shirt. Just follow the directions, wait 15” and reapply. We prefer the natural/clear. It seals and protects the wood. There is some odor but not bad, we turn on the wall fan. You really don’t use a lot with each product.

One of the best and easiest natural looking polishes one can buy in India. The price however has tripled since I last bought a can of Danish Oil

The oil itself is fine. But the 'tamper-proof' type cap is a PITA. I stripped the catches and had to pry the cap off

La aplicación es muy sencilla y funciona muy bien en maderas crudas

The review says 4pkt but only one tin of oil arrived.

Like other Watco Danish Oils, this is a very good product. It proivides a consistent good finish and is easy to use. The price point however is high at $90. (Canadian) for a pint. The bottom line is you get what you pay for and this is a quality product.
