Overpriced but they work
As other reviews have mentioned these are definitely very overpriced. Having said that they have been excellent in healing my dog's tail. They are not perfect and you still need to be careful as my dog did manage to open the wound after hitting her tail too hard on something once or twice, but allowing the wound to breath (at one point we had the tail in a closed bandage and this made the wound much worse) while still offering some protection really helped and her tail is now almost fully healed. I have also shown them to my vet who think it's a very clever solution.

May work on smaller breeds!
I have Great Dane who had a very lethal wagging tail. I had tried all sorts to protect it but unfortunately it split and became very sore! I tried various different dressings to no avail as every thing just flew off! I bought these and again these never worked they came off with her wagging! In principle very good as they let the air through to help healing but maybe with a less wagging tail they might have worked! In the end the only thing that helped was plumbers pipe lagging held on with a blue bandage 🙈🙈

Effective tail protection
I have a working springer x labrador who loves cover. He cut his tail after half a day of work, I now use these as a preventative measure when he is working, they are great. The only downsides are that the tape pulls the hair out when he is going through cover and he tends to lose them which is getting expensive! Seem very pricey for what you get in the box, I also buy extra tape separately (have a look at the wrapper).

Great
Absolutely brilliant bit of kit, we have 4 Vizslas and often have tail issues.

Expensive to buy if it doesn’t work
Our 9 month old keeps splitting the end of her tail wagging it, so we purchased these to try to help it heal. We followed the instructions- very easy to follow and looked good (I’m used to bandaging horses etc). However she either chewed it off (I think the pressure of the mesh over the sore was irritating), or she would wag it off at speed - she has a pretty long tail. We also tried bandaging lightly over the wound and then putting the cage over - but again it was either chewed or wagged off. We used a cone around her neck - but she could still get to her tail - I guess it’s the easiest part of her body to reach. We have resorted back to vet wrap which seems to stay on for a day and then have to be re-done. We did steal the idea of the tape further up the tail - that seems to help the vet wrap stay on longer. Sadly a costly thing for us to try that didn’t work. I’d try all other options first.

Definitely did the job!
It was easy to use, definitely helped our dogs tail to heal ( a Vizsla with a very “happy”tail! ). Was quite pricey and a shame that you cannot buy extra tail guards separately from this full pack. (Our vet recommended them to us), and we recommend them also.

Works a treat!!
I read all if the reviews positive and negative and decided to give it a go as we was running out of options before amputation was our only option for our very waggy springer. We put it on when the wound was wet and it stuck to it. So we let the wound air dry for a few hours and reapplied it. We've been monitoring it for a week and its worked a treat its finally healing!! 😃

Good but don't let them lick it
This is expensive for what's included in the box however still cheaper than getting one from the vet when they use the same thing. Easy to put on but you'd need two people if your dog is a bit wiggly. I brought separate vet wrap to secure it, the elastic type that sticks to itself. The tape included in the pack i personally wouldn't put on my dog, it would stick to the fur and hurt on removal. One word of caution though, don't let your dog lick their tail with these on, my boy did (it didn't cross my mind if I'm honest) but his saliva just sat in the mesh causing an infection which lead to the tip of his tail being amputated.

Perfekt
Endlich kann die Rute geschützt abheilen. Das Klebeband hält fantastisch, lässt sich aber gleichzeitig einfach lösen OHNE dass man Haare rausreißt. Sensationell!
