Quick update on game, "Im loving it"
**updated 12-10-13 with the two recent updates since I've played the game its pretty good, no freezing "so far" The graphics are a lot better than bf3, which makes you question, why is it newer games always look better than the older ones? couldn't they have done that the first time? makes you wonder if buying a next gen console is even worthed if developers cant grasp the potential of older generation consoles. Im really digging the storms that happen mid-game and the map "floodzone" you can knock the wall flooding the whole map, or shanghai, the building is easy to collapse, im sure future dlc will include more of this destruction ive only seen 3 maps with these features but its hella fun. My favorite map is rouge transmission its a snipers dream, you can climb 1000 feet on the ziplines onto concrete towers and there spaced apart and you can snipe all day and destroy the ziplines so nobody else can creep on you. I find myself looking forward to playing the game everynight so yea it was a good purchase, good enough that i went on ebay to buy dlc code for china rising, seeing as i couldnt wait to play it. my only problem? the cycle between maps is awful you end up playing 3-4 same maps over and over even though there are close to 12-13 with dlc, not cool. I dont think ive played every map yet, but ill keep updating asap. ********* o l d r e v i e w ********* Game is not really what I expected, I've been on battlefield since modern combat 2 on playstation 2, Since I have followed the franchise. I think the multiplayer maps are bigger and better and more planned out on battlefield 3 than on battlefield 4, The maps seem to get boring quick most with only 3 flags, at the start of the map, middle and end. So as you can see not much has changed, I'm still waiting on the "massive scale warfare" it so claimes, Also jets and helicopters are not very fun anymore because the maps are too small to enjoy them on. As I jumped in my first multiplayer match, It was all very simular to battlefield 3, So getting kills for me wasn't very hard, I find the command button "L2" annoying and the spotting feature "r2" alittle better than pressing "select" The command button pops up with repetetive pressing of the button "L2" which makes it annoying and its difficult to select a command while mobile in the game, Also kind of useless as nobody seems to care for what your requesting anyway. I really didn't expect much with battlefield 4 as the franchise has gotten more boring as the years progress, I still like bad company 2 and 1942 on ps3 much better and those games are old yet still being played, The fun factor is great on those games. I also tried out the new game mode, "Domination" While it has a call of duty feel to it, its too small and all anybody does it run from one flag to the next while most enemies do the same in fear of being shot and killed so its more like a duck duck goose, who can get more flags in a time limit. I honestly believe DICE needs to drop being the developer and programmer of battlefield and hand it back over to UBI soft. Graphics in this game are also simular to battlefield 3 although some maps the sky is more blue the water is more clear looking. Despite the cons of this game if your looking for some added dlc to the original it will do just fine, The storms seem alittle better but its really lacking as far as maps and strategy goes, The interface is also cluttered and hard to navigate in my opinion. One major disappointment for me is to bring up the score screen you have to literally pause the game you can no longer press select while running to see whos in the lead, I also don't like the fact that respawning takes so long now. The tanks shoot aprox 12 shells before a long long reload so no more destroying everything in your path. use your shells wisely Maybe in dlc it will improve but by that time I wont play it anymore, should have fixed that first? Game freezes when there is a lot going on in the maps and there are some moments when your playing bf4 where you feel the upgrade and the map works well, but its rare and its only 1 map that brings that "wow" factor to me. P.S*** I bought the game new for $25 by sheer luck on amazon on black friday, the next hour it was 35, So i got really lucky. Had it not been for that price tag I would not have bought it, So all in all I still got a great deal.

Very Solid Game Despite Hiccups
I picked up BF4 for the PS3 on Black Friday when it was half off, even though I had read so many bad reviews on Amazon. Some of the complaints are justifiable: I have had the game freeze on me three or four times in the middle of online play, and the graphics have some bad glitches, especially with the chain fences that become invisible and the collapsing buildings that have pieces disappear. However, the new maps are great so far. The scale of the maps makes more sense this time around. They force action, but there are still tons of sniper spots and room for tanks; you just usually don't run around for ten minutes without seeing an enemy the way you could on the bigger maps on BF3. Also, the maps change during gameplay as buildings fall and flood levels rise, making each game feel a little bit differently, which forces strategy changes on the fly. The new game modes are also a lot of fun. The variant on Rush where two teams fight over one bomb is my favorite. The objective is to take the bomb and plant it in one of three objectives; arming the objectives works just like in Rush, except now you have to play offense and defense at the same time. It's like a mix of capture the flag and smear the queer (sorry, I don't know another name for the latter...). It's an intense 20 minutes every round. Since I bought my copy a few weeks ago, there have already been a few patches that have helped the graphics look better and the game play smoother. There is no reason not to expect the patches to keep coming and for the game to continue to become more playable. Overall, there are some annoying parts to this game, such as the new button layout on the controller, not being able to squad up in the menu, and the glitches, but the new maps and the new modes are awesome. The game isn't perfect, but it's still a very good game, and I am glad I picked it up.

Battlefield 4
Played Battlefield 3...had to order this one, just received it today. have not played it yet, but thought i would place a review. If anywhere near the 3 it will be great. But watching the trailers and how the programming and software was made and used in the game, Battlefield 4 will be a far better game in play and appearance than ANY other game on the market so far. Will see in the next few days, will come back when I can and update this review Update 11/17/2013 Have been playing this game a little. I do not play online so can not comment on that avenue of this game. But in single player the graphics are great and the game play is intense. My issue is uncertainty of what to do where to go information. there is no ( unless i am missing it )good instructions, which can make it very frustrating at times. Attacking the tanks, sure get explosives and blow it up and then the second tank hounds your every move and gets you killed many times even through buildings, that's frustrating. Then the Sea Battle. After getting on the ship getting the intell and then being attacked, and obtain a rocket launcher to blow up Helicopters that when you shoot them it bounces off ? Some one yelling give me targets ? and then no helicopters show up and suddenly they are behind you dropped from a Heli you never saw ? get beyond that in an intense battle and being shot from a ship that you can do nothing about and no matter where you hide or what your behind it still shoots you ? That is frustrating to say the least. The weird thing was after getting on a boat to get back to your Ship, your being attacked by other boats and there you are going to that ship and it took forever...It for me was almost an hour, I am serious. And one time there a warning came up saying you lost power and the boat stopped and then i was blown up ? Finally after several tries and not being able to catch up to Ship, I set out to destroy every boat I saw and when they were gone I still could not catch up to the Ship...and they kept yelling about a Helicopter...I finally set out to get it and Finally after chasing after it and destroying it I was allowed to catch up to the Ship...absolutely horrible situation with No instructions , all it said was, "get to the Valkyrie", that was our Ship.....never said but first destroy a couple dozen boats and then a Heli then it will allow you to catch the Ship....??? After that another scenario being on a boat to reach shore which i was blown up in the water a few times for some odd reason from an enemy I never saw? Finally after a few times got to shore and was in a battle got behind a tank that kept yelling about giving it targets when they were all around it ? Frustrating so often with no information. Finally i was in a tank, used it to destroy a few tanks and then there was no where to go....had to get out and run around still not knowing where to go...on an occasion an arrow would appear on a direction map, but it was not always there? Glitch maybe ? Who knows...anyway after that can get in enemy tanks but None of them have shells to fight other tanks...so here I am trying to get to an airport and attacked by multiple tanks and you can not destroy them . I had anti-tank rocket launchers that would not do anything. I shot at one that when it hit the tank it killed me...seriously. Not the tank my own rocket. Like a battle earlier you had to put bombs on it and hit a switch to blow it up, these are so close together you can't get behind any of them they actually follow your every move. And they kill you even on other sides of walls....there is no where to hide and nothing you can get behind for cover. Again very frustrating battle scenarios and horrible camera angles at times. The graphics are great, the game play and instructions are vague and frustrating the battles are intense. But as a gamer the frustration causes me to have to lay it aside before i can continue it...so it maybe some time before I go any further with this game. But this is a review from an old man who plays games on occasion, I am not a everyday, stay up for days player and I never play online so take this review with a grain of salt. But i have played video games since they were invented, so that should tell you i have played video games for a long time. The graphics on these games get better and better however so many times the design gets flat on the story line and the directions and leaves the gamer often just trying to figure out what to do and why, which leads to allot of frustration and makes these games fall short of what they could and should be. Great graphics ..yes....story line...falls short...and instructions fall flat....leaves one frustrated at times, and way more than they should be. I am not to far along in this game, will move along when I get over this frustration, and can play again. Sometimes that can take awhile, while I go to other games that are better and I move along in them more and less frustration....so when i can move on in this game I will update this review, until then...I am stuck with a frustration in this game. From some other reviews I see i am not the only one who has a few issues with the game.

A 5-star effort hampered by 24-player maps
Battlefield 4 PS3 Review Battlefield 4 for PS3 is a game with excellent high points and unfortunate (but unavoidable) lows. The biggest issue for both of the current generation consoles is that the game, which was designed for 64 players on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, can only handle 24 players. This means that multiplayer, the core Battlefield experience, is often extremely lackluster, particularly where Conquest mode is concerned. I often end up with less than 20 kills for a full map, which is just...well, despressing. Rush and the newer, closer-quarter game modes are not quite as slow-paced as Conquest, and afford better action on current gen consoles in my opinion. Still, that said, this is one of the best FPS games that has been produced for the current generation of consoles, and it is certainly worth purchasing (especially if you intend to get the PS4 when it comes out; "upgrading" supposedly only costs $10, and all progress + unlocks will be carried over). I can't give the 5 stars I gave for the PC review, but this is a very solid effort that addressed many of the complaints I had for BF3. Multiplayer Review: Still, even with the above complaint of "not being able to find an enemy" being true, "Battlefield moments" abound in BF4. Base-jump off a sky scraper. Drop c4 on a tank as you parachute down. Destroy the tank, killing the 2 guys inside, just before you land directly behind the sniper that's been plaguing your team from his little hideout. Knife him and take his dog tags...those types of sequences happen often (just not as often as PC), and it's an adrenaline rush like no other. You can't get this type of action anywhere else. It really seems like the dev team focused on giving players as much creative license as they could, and it has paid off in a HUGE way. BF4 addressed virtually all of my major complaints with BF3. Gone is the inexplicable lack of destructibility (mostly...there are still some walls that I feel should be destructible that are not). Gone are the funneling choke-points that made certain maps virtually unplayable from certain spawns. Gone is the horrid squad perk system (it's been replaced by one that works). The maps are very well designed for 64 players, but not-so-great for 24. I had MAJOR complaints with BF3 map design after experiencing the glory of BC2. If you felt that way at all...well, the maps in BF4 offer more routes to objectives, more creativity, and more tactical offensive opportunities. The DICE team REALLY stepped it up, and the design is noticeable even on current gen consoles. Class balance: The biggest change made here is that Recon is infinitely more useful now. The BC2 motion mine has made its return along with C4, and I've found the Recon class to be the most user-friendly to play out of the gate. Engineers seem *slightly* nerfed to me, but that could just be my dislike for their class weapons. The weapons are all a joy to fire because the wild recoil on almost every weapon rewards skill and punishes spray-and-pray types. The new "zeroing" function is also extremely handy for sniping. Vehicles also seem to have been well thought out. You actually start with defensive countermeasures now, so you don't have to suffer through a week of trying to level up your scout helicopter against heat-seeking missiles while you don't have flares. There are different vehicles available on certain maps on current gen consoles vs PC because of the player limit. My only fear: Server Renting. If it becomes possible for any Joe Schmo to rent a server from DICE like it was in BF3, the game will suffer the same problems. I do not know if DICE has a system in place to keep their "official servers" listed separately from rented ones (if they go that route). Nothing is more annoying than getting kicked from a game in which you're 18-1 because the admin thinks you're "cheating" -- just because you happened to kill him four times while he camped behind the same bush. Single Player: Obviously, if you've read above, I've spent most of my first few hours owning the game in Multi. I did play about 2 hours of single player, however, and found it to be entertaining and well-paced but predictable. There's not really a lot more to say about it there.

Great Game
This game is a must have, if you enjoy or have enjoyed the Battlefield Series. The campaign didn't have alot of levels (has more than 6 levels) but they are extremely long. The gameplay is smooth, sounds great, and can easily ramp up the difficulty if that's your thing. The multiplayer still has lobbies that you can jump in and play quickly. DLC out there has a lot of additional content so get it while you can. Otherwise, great game.

Buy it
Fast shipping, great game, would buy from seller again. I'm a gaming snob. I only have limited time for the best games available. I was skeptical about buying this game based on the reviews, but after playing it for 2 weeks I'm thoroughly impressed. I only play multiplayer and many of the battles are legendary with amazing maps. I like the higher number of online players in a map than BO and COD series. The maps are a much larger and more visually stimulating experience. It would be nice to have more guns unlocked earlier on in the the multiplayer experience, but it gives you something to work on. All in all, a very impressive game to sharpen your high speed reflexes in a short amount of time.

Could definitely use some improvement!
I got this after reading the negative reviews hoping that they had put out an update that fixed what people were talking about. So far I have only played the Campaign so I can't comment on the Multiplayer just yet. I will leave a comment reviewing the Multiplayer when I have played it. Alright! So the campaign... short, short and more too short! I finished the campaign in a total of about 4 or 5 hours, and I took some breaks here and there! Even though it was a great storyline it was just too short! I feel like they could have gone without some of the cut scenes, allowed for more gameplay and extended the story to make it longer. They could have easily continued the story, so when you reach the end of it you're like, "Was that all? It doesn't keep going?" Because you're so interested in seeing where else the story will lead you and then it just ends. Also, the gameplay just felt a little glitchy in one particular way... when you are getting shot at by the AI's and you're trying to aim at them with a sniper rifle or really any weapon, you can't aim, it just jumps around them in a glitchy like manner! Then when you think you're finally on them you shoot and don't even hit them. I noticed with the sniper rifle I watched the vapor trail go right through the AI's head and nothing! Also the AI's could hit me and I couldn't even hit them, and they are using a machine gun and I'm using a sniper rifle! That's when I got really pissed because they could hit me, I could barely aim on them cause of the previously mentioned "glitch" and couldn't hit them even though I watched the bullets vapor trail go right through the AI's head. I never had a problem with the game "restarting" on me or anything like that. I actually only had to restart from a checkpoint because for some reason the story kinda "froze"... and that was it, the only time I had any problem with the campaign not continuing like it should. So it definitely seems to me that EA and DICE did rush the release of this game rather than get everything right the first time. I never had any problems with any of the other Battlefield games! I find it very surprising that COD Ghosts and Battlefield 4, games that had a LOT of hype and high expectations, turned out to not be as good or as big as their hype; and that the developers didn't actually turn out better quality before release! A lot of the reviews I've read have mentioned many of the same things I have and more. Why is it that these developers have decided to throw quality aside in order to meet a release deadline? As a customer I would rather see a game developer delay a release because then, as a gamer and customer, I know they want it to meet or exceed the hype; I also know it is going to be a good game because they are going for quality rather than saying "lets just get it out there, sell a ton of them to make money and then provide an update that fixes the bugs later on"... makes no sense to me! If I was a game developer I wouldn't want the bad rep of having released a crap game that had a lot of hype! Cause that could ruin you as a business. For example, when COD Modern Warfare 2 was getting a lot of hype pre-release, there is something that happened that maybe not very many console gamers know about. In the computer gaming world, EVERYTHING is clan based and run by clans because of one thing, dedicated servers that can be rented out, monitored and ran by the clan admins. COD:MW2 was the first computer game to go the other route and be more like consoles. The whole computer gaming world was in an uproar about it, and we were not happy! It actually almost broke the developers, namely InfinityWard, almost putting them out of business. They lost a lot of respect as a company from the PC Gaming community, and it nearly cost them... they barely escaped total ruin and have since then regained what they lost. But to this day, myself and all my gaming friends from my PC Gaming days have not played, nor own, COD:MW2... So if you are considering this game I'm not going to tell you to not get it, because it is a good game... just make sure that there is an update for the game that fixes the "bugs" that the game currently has. I gave it three stars because it was still enjoyable and it is still an improvement in gameplay. Absolutely love the amount of destruction there is in the Battlefield games, and this one takes it to the next level! So it's deserving of 3 stars, not higher because they should have delayed the release in order to get it right, instead of releasing a "beta" in order to basically compete with COD Ghosts.
