Yes, you can dispense peanut M&M, because of the different size peanut M&M sometime it will dispsense one, and other time two at a time.

Is the glass fragile?

Yes, it is very fragile. The glass globe broke on the one I bought my daughter within 2 weeks of very little use. It's cheaply made.

Will this dispense jelly beans instead of gum?

I haven't personally tested the machine with jelly beans, but I don't see why it wouldn't! It would probably just dispense several at a time.
