5 Ft Turbo Tube Slide Green

So, as almost every other reviewer on here has said, this slide comes with 'some assembly required'. It is a somewhat tedious tasking inserting all 35,861 bolts. I didn't actually count them, but it felt like this many. But really other than being a little time consuming, assembly is pretty straight forward. As others have mentioned, it can be difficult to everything to line up. Each 'half' of the tube has a portion of a flange that is supposed to mate up to the opposite half to make assembly and fit easier, but I found that these flanges were in the way and prevented a tight fit more than they helped. Simple enough to fix by just shaving them down a little bit with a utility knife. Once that was done, Between that fix, and a small alignment punch to help flex everything in line, I didn't have too much difficulty putting it together. If you follow the instructions and assemble everything first and then try to stand it up and mount it to the playset, this is definitely a 2 person job. And while I cussed a couple times and the sheer number of bolts and the amount of time it took to assemble, it was all worth while the first time our toddler went down it grinning ear to ear the entire way. This was quickly followed by 20 minutes of sliding down, circling the playset to the ladder, climbing back up and repeating. Overall quality seemed okay for the price. It is a little flimsy out of the box, but once bolted together is more than strong enough for even my test runs down the slide. For $350, you are not getting a commercial slide with a 1,000 lb load rating. But you are getting a nice tube slide for a backyard playset that should give your kids years of fun.

I bought this slide for my DIY playset, I needed a slide for a 5' deck that had a small footprint. I'm not sure you can beat this slide for the price. I bought it on Amazon through a partner (Wayfair). It arrived promptly and in good condition. I was missing one star head drill bit, and the other was loose in the box, but otherwise everything was in order. Assembly was time-consuming but straightforward. After reading the other reviews I varied the installation by attaching the entry section to the playset first, then attaching the clamshell sections one at a time; as opposed to assembling the entire slide then trying to mount it. This allowed me to do the job myself. As others have said, there is some prying and squeezing that needs to take place to allow the holes to come together, and in about 10 cases I used a drill to widen a hole to allow the bolt to slide through. Also I used GRK RSS structural screws instead of the included lag screws for the upper mounts due to the high quality and strength of the GRKs, and GRK exterior wood screws instead of the included wood screws because I was unsure of the quality of the coating for use with pressure treated wood. The instructions also require you to fabricate a little stand at the bottom so the weight of the slide is not on the lip; the instructions for this were clear and it was easy to build, just chop up a 2x4 and screw it all together. I've gone down the slide a few times, but it is tight for an adult. The kids love it, they climb up and down it two at a time without any problems. It seems very solid and I expect it to last a long time.

I've been building my daughter a raised play house and an enclosed twisty slide made the most sense design-wise, for the look, functionality, and terrain. I shopped through a few of the offerings available online before landing on this model. The Good: it's fun and it works! It also has a fairly compact 2-dimensional footprint for its size/vertical volume, which I think is a strength. My kid LOVES it. It's a good quality-price ratio overall, and the materials when it's put together feel strong and durable. The shipping is also pretty easy, as it all comes in one single box that is pretty manageable. The Bad: Assembly,machining/alignment, amount of hardware assembly, and instructions. Instructions: mostly clear, but not accurate. There were a few places where there were notable differences in the images/diagrams and the written text on the same page, such as saying to provide a space of 27" but then showing 25" on the diagram. But the instructions will get you 90% of the way there, and the rest is clear enough to determine with logic. I will say that towards the end (when setting up the base and creating the port up top for the chute) I found myself abandoning the instruction and simply measuring and improvising. Hardware: There is a MASSIVE amount of hardware to put together. Looking at images of other, similar slides, they seem like they have less. So that's a bit of a negative, but certainly not a dealbreaker. If you're doing this purely with hand tools though, you're an absolute masochist. Assembly/Alignment: This one caused the biggest stink for me personally. The main body of the slide is straightforward enough once you get going, but there are these little flanges that are in theory supposed to have clear separations where they fit together, providing a secure fit between pieces and showing you the logical construction. Well, my model had one part (towards the top of the slide) that was miss-machined. It led me to undo my work, redo it, undo it again, and then redo it again and cost me about an hour of frustration and doubting myself. It's not exactly an easy shape to see clearly that it's working, when you can't lift it up and you can't assemble it vertically. I eventually just forced the pieces together the way I originally had them (ignoring/squeezing out the 'flange' bits) and that was ok. I'm not worried about the structural integrity of this piece, it's solid. I was tempted overall to give the product three stars bc of these concerns/frustrations, but I landed on four instead bc one frustrating afternoon vs likely years of continuous play didn't quite tilt the scale that far. That's just how parent life is sometimes, right? Overall, I would recommend you purchase this product. If you don't already have them, spend the extra $20 or so on tools to make your life a lot easier (such as bits for your driver to handle the screwing action, a hex-tipped screwdriver to hold the other end of the bolt, etc. (IIRC these are 1/2" bits for everything). I did the assembly mostly alone, but it would definitely help to have another person with you too. Note: I've added an image so you can see the slide attached to the project, but please note that it's still under construction and that this is not the permanent setup. I plan on grading up the terrain around the slide base and putting a more permanent support underneath of it/landscaping around it a little bit. The deck was a little higher than 5' and I knew this would have to be done when purchasing the slide.

Box arrived torn with missing bolts, but company responded and sent out missing pieces immediately. Slide was difficult to put together with one person, so try to have a helper. There are about a billion bolts to tighten down and expect sore wrists and hours to get it all done. Directions were good. Kids were initially concerned to enter it because it appears steep, but once they went down one time you couldn't keep them off it. It slows down very nicely at the bottom so they don't shoot out of it, but come to a stop at the bottom. It looks sturdy, like it will last. We did add an additional brace at the bottom of the curve, but that was our choice in case adults started using it. Nice slide, would purchase again. PS There is a warning that if there is winter weather below 32F to take it off and store. I suspect that is for extended freezing day after day. We won't be doing that. Where would we store it? If it eventually cracks we will deal with that then.

Nice tube slide. Easy to put together. We bought two slides to put together making it to the height of 10 feet. We mounted it to the floor our kids fort starting at 10 feet high. Took a little work being that it was two slides put together. Would advise anyone buying this slide to have a cordless impact gun to mount a socket as I did because I could see that tightening all these bolts with a hand ratchet would be tremendously time consuming not to mention frustrating of not see progress fast. Directions were easy to follow if your reading carefully. Thanks. Adrian, Update For Goodrich. Please see pics. Look at the pic of the description of the kid first. It's easier if labelled. Number 1 is the top where it mounts. Number 2 is the upper torso of the kid. That would be the area of the red shirt of the kid in the picture. Number 3 would be the bottom torso where he's wearing the pants. If you buy two then you would have doubles of 1,2, and 3. See my pictures and notice 2 number 2s put together and then number 3 at the bottom. You have to have it this way in order to have ten feet. The platform in my picture is ten foot Fort for my kids. Ten foot from the floor to the ground. You'll have an extra number 1 and a extra number 3. The hole in where the two number 2s hook up does not effect or compromise the structure. It looks okay in my opinion. It you don't want that hole then you might want to get a 5ft and a 7ft. Being that the 6ft slide I think only has an extended number 1. And the 7 ft has and extended number 1 but would also have another turned piece.(center part of the slide that turns.) And that turning piece would eliminate having to put two number 2s together. I wanted to love this slide but it’s been a headache from the beginning. Bought the slide before I was done building the jungle gym so it sat for several months unopened just to open it and realize more than half the pieces were broken. I contacted the manufacture as I was well outside of the Amazon window and they were amazing and sent me a whole new slide. It took my husband and I both to install and took forever but here we are a year later and it’s broken in 8 places with two kids under 50 lbs. claims it can support up to 250 and there’s no way. It’s broken even on places weight never touches. My kids are asking me to get a new one and I just can’t afford or justify ANOTHER $500 slide for a year of use.

My kids love the slide. It has been a great addition to our play house. The slide did take a while to assemble. The whole thing ships in one box and all the plastic parts are laid in a box and bent to fit in. Thus, the holes don't all line up as others have mentioned when you first pull it out of the box. I put the bolts in loosely, then tightened them down and that caused the holes to line up. I didn't need to drill out any new holes. The manufacturer included more bolts that was needed which was great. When you're screwing 100+ bolts you're bound to drop one or two. I'd recommend using a impact driver to make the fastening go faster. When fully assembled you'll need a couple people to hold it in place while securing it to your play structure. But now that it is up, it seems quite solid. I can go down it with no issue.

This slide for me started off bad, as the packaging was terrible; half the washers had fallen out along the way somewhere. The assembly was difficult for one person due to the construction of the slide. For one thing, the holes & the beveled portions never lined up great (I had to drill my own holes for about 8-10 spots). Secondly, the directions were not very clear (if you can find a video, I would try that). Thirdly, the installation requires quite a bit of treated 2x4's. Lastly, getting it in place requires 3 people. All that said, our girls (4 & 6) and their friends LOVE it! It is quite sturdy once you put all the bracing in place. We've had it for a few weeks, and they haven't stopped going up & down, up & down. In two words: Worth it.

This slide took awhile to assemble as there are a lot of nuts and bolts but it was worth the time...the kids LOVE it and that's all the counts!

The slide works but the fit and finish of the slide sections could be much better. The problems that other reviewers note with getting the bolts put in is due to poor quality control in the manufacturing process. The holes do not line up properly and the flanges bind on the mating flange lip (the flange lip is supposed to help with alignment but does the opposite most of the time.)

Its a slide. It does its job. Some of the wholes are tight to line up, had to drill the bottom 2 holes as there was no way they were lining up. I did it myself until lifting it in place (2 person job). Lots of bolts to put together but it comes with the territory of safety and kids. 4/5 ( only downfall in the holes not lining up).
