CAP Barbell Weighted Workout Bar

The bar was okay. I am still giving it 4 stars, even though I returned it, because I don't think everyone else will have the same problem I did.PACKING: The bar arrived wrapped except for the capped ends, which were outside the packaging (loose plastic wrap and brown paper). The caps were grubby, but looked like they would clean easily with a damp paper towel.THE BAR: The bar had no detectable rubber odor (a plus over some workout equipment I have purchased). The bar was heavily padded, which is both a pro and a con. It made for a squishy grip, but also a large one.MY PROBLEM: My main problem, and the reason I returned it, was the circumference too big for me to easily grip. I am 5'6'', but have a slender build. The bar was 5 7/8 inches around.(~15 cm). I had a hard time wrapping my hands around the bar comfortably.MY SOLUTION: I returned the bar and got a  Champion Barbell Reactor Work Out Bar, 12-Pound , which was a couple of inches shorter in length (still over 48 inches), but only had a circumference of 4 3/8 inches (~11.1 cm). That 1.5 inches may not seem like a lot, but it makes all the difference in how well I was able to grip the bar.

I don't think the material is super durable because mine had a dent in it when I got it. No big deal because I plan on 'outgrowing' this pretty soon and have already ordered a 15 pound bar from a different brand on Amazon because I'm not sticking with this brand. Also, I find that it's so thick that it's difficult to handle, but I have very small hands.But I think I got what I paid for and expected to get stronger so soon that I wouldn't be using this for long. Spending more on something better wouldn't have been wise, but that certainly doesn't make this a great product. So, if you are looking for a heavy bar that you will use a long time, I'd look elsewhere. For something that you know is temporary, save money and get this.

Arrived with some brown dirt on it and the foam had some rips in it. The product itself works as intended I guess, it just looks bad.

Packaging was sloppy but worse was when I cleaned it. I used an all purpose cleaned and it can out a dicusting brown color on the paper towel. Gross! I'm sending it back.

I have found lifting 20 lb bar behind my head and extend 20 reps day in addition to other exercies with bar keeps my carpal tunnal (sp?)/ wrist from hurting.Worried was going to be square from description was not was round and well cushioned and good circumfrance for hands.I was disapointed the ends were not colored to avoid accidents.Only negative was the black leaves smudges on wall as I exercise in bedroom but will figure out something.Good value for price, better than sports authority where had old bar until my lab decided to chew up.Have Amazon Prime but was very surprised in the very quick arrival. Since ackward and little heavy was expecting on slow side. Arrived quickly.

This is perfect for my home workouts. It has a soft exterior so it has a comfortable grip and the weight of 20lbs is moderate for me.
