Great product! Quality construction! I am an NRA Firearms Instructor and use snap caps in my classes for safety. When teaching a large group using different firearms, it saves me a ton of time to have snap caps in different colors, according to their caliber. The Ultimate Arms Gear snap caps are made of metal with colored plastic bullets. (not weak aluminum) These snap caps can stand up to the abuse of teaching how to clear jams. (such as stove pipe jams ) Highly recommended!!!

These dummy rounds are good for practicing magazine loading, chambering and/or round cycling without any potential danger of accidental discharges. They also work for practicing gun clearing (tap-rack-shoot, etc.) by acting as a random defective cartridge during live fire exercises. But for continual dry fire exercises they are useless; these are not snap caps since they have not firing pin cushioning placed in the primer location. Instead the orange plastic you can just see in the product image is recessed in from the face of the rim base and into the case to avoid any contact with the firing pin. Any potential purchaser and user with a pistol that is susceptible to damage from dry fire (guns with breech block roll pins, etc.) needs to be aware that these dummy rounds do not protect your pistol's slide from any damage that may occur with repeated dry firing.

These trainer rounds have worked great for me. My main purpose was to have something that allowed me to practice loading and unloading my guns (I bought a few different sizes) as well as chambering rounds without the obvious danger of using live ammo. These were at least half the cost of other trainer rounds on the market. The previous reviewer commented these are not good for continual dry fire excercises. I concur with that, but that wasn't my main purpose for getting the rounds. I do have snap caps I use for those purposes.
