Great light with excellent CRI
Love this flashlight. Tried many similar 14500 / AA lights, including the Tool AA 3.0 and this ones always wins out. The nichia version has a higher CRI which means it has better color rendering and field of depth, which is perfect for my use. Some of the other 14500 / AA lights have higher lumen but lack in CRI. This light is extremely sturdy for its size and easy to carry. The mechanical tail switch is nice and clicky and does not easily accidentally activate. The tail switch does illuminate when used with a 3.7v 14500 battery, which causes a slight drain over time but I actually quite like. There are many guides/videos online that show how to deactivate it if not needed. There is also a glow in the dark element inside the lens, which adds a nice effect after use.

Best edc light I’ve bought. Beautiful tint and nice form factor
I have many lights, primarily 18650 lights, this was my first 14500/AA light and it was such a good choice. The 4000k Nichia emitter is so perfect for this light. I might order another just to keep sealed in case they ever discontinue this model, that’s how much I love it! Every single thing about it is perfect, the included diffuser is great to add warm ambient light to your room with long run times. I use NiMh with mine indoors primarily, the high cri makes everything look so good. Built really well, beautiful anodizing, threads feel buttery smooth, everything about this screams quality. Coincidentally my first Lumintop product, and I loved it so much I went and ordered the EDC15 and EDC01. It will get hot when using a good 14500 cell on turbo, but it’s a small light so it’s expected. Truthfully if you need that much light for that long without the drawback of a hot light, I would look into a 18650 light that can output more for longer. But this light is perfect and is in my pocket every day since I bought it. Comparing it to the ThruNite Saber cool white, I am not a fan of cool white, you can see how much more pleasing the warm white is and how it makes the colors appear as they are.

Doesn't come with battery
I was looking for a small and compact flashlight light and this is it. I could hold the light in my hand without feeling much heat even on the highest setting. The battery life seems to be good, I used it for a day without recharging. A full press of the tail switch turns the light on. To cycle through the brightness setting, you half press for low, medium, high and turbo. I found the strobe a little difficult to access, you have to half press the tail switch six times. The tail switch also has a ambient light but only works with a 14500 battery. I also discovered that you can operate the light by twisting the tail cap. With the light in the on position twist the tail cap a little less than a quarter turn and each turn will cycle through the brightness levels. This light is very well constructed, it's made of aluminum and has a nice grip. For it's size this little light is very bright with a beautiful warm light and decent throw. My only gripe would be the difficulty accessing the strobe function and having to purchase your own battery.

Very solid little light
I've only had this little light for a few days but it seems to work as advertised using a AA alkaline battery. It is a perfect size to carry in a pocket-not too bulky but not so small it will get lost I wish I would have known there is a version that includes a 14500 rechargeable Li-on battery since that would provide much brighter light and longer run times. The only downside is the color temperature is much warmer than my other LED lights, 4000k from what others have said I believe. That was a slight disappointment for me. UPDATE: April 2023. I love this little light! On the lowest setting, it puts out just the right amount of light to maneuver through our dark house at night without waking up the family because the light is too bright. The battery life wouldn't be long if I was to use it at high power outside but for under cabinets and closest corners, it is just the right amount of light. Based on the low power setting I use and the short run time at night, I think the AA battery will last over a year with my nightly use. UPDATE NUMBER 2: October 2024. My favorite flashlight for around the house at night! I don't lose my night vision or become wide awake by turning on a room light as long as I have this little light. Using the lowest light setting every night for a few minutes wandering around the house, I've had the same AA alkaline battery in this since I bought it 20 months ago. Never a hiccup. Works perfectly every time. I've got three (one still in the box as a backup) of these lights now!

Excellent quality.
Awesome little flashlight. Love the much warmer 4500k tone which is great for not strainging the eyes too much at night. Great for keeping next to the bed.

HOW TO DISABLE PARASITIC LIGHT FROM TAIL SWITCH -> FLASHLIGHT IS GREAT AFTER THIS!
Like many others I love the flashlight -> light, bright, nice throw, but hated the parasitic light that comes on automatically when using 3.6V lithium batteries and drains the battery day and night. Decided to do something about it, and IT WORKED! Tools: all you need a small scissors. Time: 10 minutes. Warning: this change is permanent (you cannot get the parasitic light back). Here are the steps: 1. Unscrew bottom of the flashlight and notice the 2 grooves in the aluminum ring screwed to the bottom of the flashlight. 2. Take scissors and fix its 2 sharp points firmly into the grooves. 3. Spin the case such that the aluminum ring would spin counterclockwise relative to the flashlight case. 4. Take out aluminum ring, rubber gasket and finally pull out spring and button assembly. 5. With one tip of the scissors push out the LEDs from the 2 large rectangles opposite each other (touch nothing else - leave small rectangles electronics as they are) 6. Re-assemble the flashlight by putting in button (hold by the spring), then rubber gasket, then screw back the aluminum ring (tighten with scissors). 7. Test the flashlight works as before only that the parasitic LED no longer shines to drain the battery. Now you have a five star flashlight that will not discharge over time when using lithium batteries with voltage greater than 1.5 volts!! You are welcome! :-)

Compact flashlight. Long battery life and user friendly outputs with neutral beam profile for good colour rendering.
