Impressive and well supported
It looks good and is wafer thin. The cables emerged parallel to the plane of the screen, keeping its thin profile. I had trouble programming it because what I was trying to do was a bit tricky so I emailed Waveshare Support. They sent me a customised example, and also replied with a final tip when the example failed, which sorted it. When I had pointed the Arduino IDE at .zip files to install libraries, the IDE told me there were no libraries in the archive. Even when I pointed the IDE at the example zip provided by Waveshare support, the IDE warned there were no library files it it. I don't know if it's a Mac thing or another random computer thing but the moral is always to load libraries even if your computer tells you there are none in the source. And ignore the warnings that are false. Easy!

Works like a charm. Support for Arduino, Raspberry Pi and other for this and other e-ink displays is found on the waveshare-site.

Sehr gutes Modul ...
... denn: Bei EInk-Anwednungen mag man meist am Strom sparen. Dieses Modul enthält nicht nur wie versprochen einen xV/3.3VLevel-Shifter zwecks 5V und 3.3V Kompatibilität, sondern kann das Modul auch über den herausgeführten Reset-Pin komplett stromfrei schalten. Die Anzeige bleibt dabei (it's EInk) erhalten. Das habe ich anderswo auch schon schlechter gesehen --- hier hat eine/r mitgedacht.

Display eInk poco supportato ma ottimo
Display 2.9" 296x128 con controller IL3840v2 e interfaccia SPI (testata a 2 e 4 MHz). Attenzione è solo a 3.3V, non collegatelo ad Arduino Uno (5V) senza un level shifter, lo rovinate. Purtroppo gli esempi Waveshare non funzionano (si riferiscono a un diverso controller, pare); per fortuna l'ultima versione della libreria U8G2 funziona bene, usando questo costruttore e relativi collegamenti: U8G2_IL3820_V2_296X128_F_4W_SW_SPI u8g2(U8G2_R0, /* clock=*/ 13, /* data=*/ 11, /* cs=*/ 10, /* dc=*/ 9, /* reset=*/ 8); Funziona bene, refresh veloce (e supporta anche il parziale, ma non tramite U8G2 che al momento non lo prevede), consuma niente, mantiene l'ultima scritta anche staccandolo dall'alimentazione come tutti gli eInk.
