The predicessor to this mouse frequently had issues with the left and right click buttons, has this been fixed in any way with the new version?

I had the same question. The last 2 G903s I bought developed the same double click issues too. The G900 did not have the issue and I was luckily able to still buy another G900 to replace the G903s but there doesn't seem to be anymore G900s on the market. The reason the G900 didn't develop the double click issue unusually fast like the G903 was because they lowered the voltage on the sensor for the G903 to extend the battery life. The voltage was lowered too low and caused the sensor to fail drastically quicker. lower the voltage on the sensor the quicker it will break and develop double clicks. This is why the G903 breaks and develops double click so quickly compared to the G900. I too need another mouse but I don't want to buy the G903 if it still has the low voltage sensor double click issue. I really do love this mouse though especially with the adjustable DPI buttons on top. The Logitech G Pro Wireless mouse looks good but it lacks the DPI buttons on top so not as ideal for me. AFAIK, it doesn't have the double click issue.

Is this still using the chinese omron switches or have they gone back to the japanese ones?

Same buttons. Double clicking is possible.
