Simple And Elegant
I'm bummed that the new WiiU doesn't support Gamecube games, but at least there is now an inexpensive solution to using the Gamecube controllers - this model. The adapter came without any instructions, but the picture on the box was enough - there are two USB connectors on the back of the WiiU console, and two plugs for this adaptor. All you have to do is plug it in, then plug in your Gamecube controllers to one of the four front ports. That's all there is to it. I find it refreshing to see such a simple installation, and reliable operation. I'm using controller extension cords with ours, and they work fine as well. All features of the GameCube controllers worked just as they should. It also got the "seal of approval" from my Wii expert (my son)! Summary: Simple, elegant solution to using the GameCube controller with the WiiU. Highly recommended.

I play quite a bit of smash bros and some of the people that play with me have a horrible habbit of smacking the buttons and joy
Cheap controller. I play quite a bit of smash bros and some of the people that play with me have a horrible habbit of smacking the buttons and joystick with the strength of Zues. Like, come one, just press it lightly. But this has been in use for a couple years and is still in decent shape. The joy stick is fraying slightly but the buttons are crisp.

It's ok but there are flaws, inferior to the original in every way, but good price
Lets see I will try to be as detailed as possible in this review to help you out the most. Recently I purchased one of these controllers so i would have an extra for when i have people over. It serves its purpose but it certainly is not perfect. I have 2 original Nintendo Gamecube controllers (purple) which still work perfectly and when i compare them together the original is far superior. So you might ask well what are these "flaws" that you speak of and I will list everything that i have found wrong or different. 1. The left joystick has a terrible terrible deadzone, which i will explain, From the stick being stationary to when you tilt it in any direction the controller should have sensitivity so if you mash the stick all the way up or just slightly move the stick up it should be recognized differently. The controller does do this but the threshold of what is a slight tap and a full mash is so small it makes things like aiming precisely, walking or running, inching forward as opposed to walking forward waayyy more difficult than with my original Nintendo controllers. 2. The left and right triggers are supposed to have a slight press and a full press function for games such as Super Mario Sunshine, the controllers have this function but there is no "click" in my right trigger but there is one in the left trigger. Nonetheless the function works but you kind of have to get a feel for it. 3. The cord is VERY short but it is the same as the original Gamecube controllers that launched with the console, since then Nintendo has produced longer cables. Nothing a simple extension cable cant solve however. 4. The Z button has to be pressed harder and now clicks unlike with my original controller which has a soft press (could just mean my original controller is old, but both of mine are like this) Truly my biggest flaw is number 1 on my list with the joystick. It makes games like Melee hard to use up air as opposed to up smash attacks etc. Or playing Legend of zelda on the virtual console it is hard as heck to use the bow and aim (not impossible just way more frustrating than necessary. However for 8 dollars you get what you pay for.

Great quick and cheap alternative option!
For the price, it is a great alternative option in comparison to the official controllers. Just be aware, they really only last for smash bros players for a couple of months before the joystick's padding comes off. After that, the C-stick may become a little unresponsive at times or some buttons may have slight difficulties. But it's really easy to replace and I'll definitely buy again! As for the first open, it's very responsive in timing and the cord is the average cord length. The frame holds well and works well. 10/10 would buy again!

Very nice. Works as needed.
Works with my gamecube just like any other controller. almost everything is exactly like the original controller I got with my gamecube. my only gripe with it is the z button is abit clicky noise wise and the directional pad seems to move allot more than It should. but all of that its an amazing controller and those negatives don't rely bug me when playing games, but just something I noticed so im not taking off a star for that.

Almost there... but just falls flat.
Okay. So, I haven now had the chance to test this thing with both The Nintendo Gamecube, and the Computer. Even had a side by side comparison to a name brand controller. With that being said, lets dive in. The first thing you will notice is that this just looks cheaper than the name brand controller (And slightly smaller). The C-stick looks off and the controller looks faded. The next thing you will notice is upon plugging it in, you will realize there is no grip into the socket. Expect this thing to fall out constantly. Now, once you get past those problems, other than the L and R button grinding against the cheap plastic, They do still work and they are still responsive. The other buttons are responsive as well, except only 1 and it is an issue. The Right D-pad button does not register. Not on the computer, not on the gamecube. Granted, a good chunk of games don't use it, but it is extremely obvious in the ones that do. I give it 3 stars. D-pad is faulty, and the feel is terrible, but most of the buttons work and are responsive. I guess you get what you paid for though. My recommendation, don't get this controller if you can avoid it, and get a name brand one. It will be well worth your money in the long run. I am not sure how long this one will last. But I will do a small edit only if things go terribly wrong. Bottom line, this controller is meh. EDITED: Upon looking at the controller box, I realize the controller I got is not a Joytech controller, but the Cirka controller. Which might explain everything.

Surprisingly Comfortable
I Bought this controller because it was the only way to play Zelda Ocarina of time on my wii. I was a little nervous since I never owned the gamecube and never held the controller before. But Surprisingly Enough it was real Comfortable. my hands dont cramp up after hours of playing and the controller layout is really good. Only thing I didnt like was that I payed over $10 for a controller thats been around for a while. But maybe you'll get lucky and find it for a cheaper price. anyways I recommend this controller, this is coming from a long time gamer. Happy Hunting.

Not good for medium to high level play.
This is a decent controller for the price, but the placement of the Turbo button, let alone the fact that it has one at all, is rather annoying. I ended up removing it and putting tape over the hole within the first hour of having it since I would keep accidentally hitting it. It was kind of annoying though since the screw near the Turbo button stripped out. The buttons feel a bit like the controller equivalent of Happ arcade buttons, they're much more tactile and clicky than the 1st party switches Nintendo uses, and oddly mushy, which isn't really bad, and I definitely prefer Happ buttons to Sanwa/Seimitsus, but this isn't an arcade stick, so it can feel a little strange getting used to. The sticks are also fairly imprecise, as I was having trouble performing some actions in the menus in Melee as quickly as I would have liked. I use this for Super Smash Bros. and a couple Smash fangames/mods, first I tried it with Melee (played it on Dolphin on my PC), and later Project M (also on Dolphin), and within the first couple days of using it the spring in the R trigger wore out, making it so there was always a small bit of pressure in it so I would always shield. This is what had me stop using the controller entirely. This was a definite upgrade from my old controller, as I could finally do things I couldn't before and other things easier (eg. SHFFL, wavedashing onto platforms), but again once the R trigger's spring started to give it was pretty much useless and I had to order a couple official ones off Ebay. I would send it back, but I'm sure my tearing out that horrible Turbo button lost me of my chances of doing so.

Didn't work with the Wii, which is what I wanted it for. Didn't come in a box as pictured, but in a nondescript clear bag. Quality looked OK.

Two controllers broke after only a few uses
I bought two of these controllers. One broke after about 2 hours of use and the second one broke shortly after. Both times the joysticks stopped responding. I don't recommend buying these cheap knock-off controllers...it is better to buy a used Nintendo brand controller. These controllers were a huge waste of money.
