High DPI, lightweight ambidextrous gaming mouse!
This is a pretty good gaming mouse, with DPI selection buttons behind the mouse wheel, allowing for on-the-fly DPI selection in the heat of battle. This is great for turning DPI up for frenzied, fast paced movement with SMGs and LMGs in Battlefield, especially during hip fire, then hitting the button to lower the DPI to get a nice, steady aim when using scopes and ADS. The mouse is extremely lightweight, so pickup and movement is very easy. One consequence of this, though, is that any strains on the mouse cord (like getting caught on desktop stuff) will constrain your movement a bit more than a heavier mouse. The sides have a nice textured rubber grip to them, for easier holding and less slippage. There are two side buttons on each side, most likely to support both right hand and left hand users. This causes an issue where you'll accidentally hit the opposite side with your fingers, so I recommend turning one side off inside the Razer Synapse software. The last physical notes on this mouse are these: 1) The ambidextrous nature of the Taipan makes it, initially, far less comfortable than traditional right hand mice. It took me a week to get used to having my ring and pinky fingers hanging off to the side alone. 2) The mouse wheel glows orange, which looks really cool in no or low light. It's not bright enough to notice under direct overhead lights. 3) The mouse wheel is not one of those click-to-freewheel ones; you cannot freely spin it like some mice. This is less desirable in documents and web pages, but it makes the wheel much, much more useful than the free-wheel ones in-game, because the freewheel ones, even in normal usage mode, tend to over-spin, causing you to miss many weapons in your weapon selection.

Pretty decent mouse for FPS gaming
Pretty decent mouse for FPS gaming, but that's about it. Not very versatile for other games due to limited buttons/layout. But as a FPS mouse, it's good. Just my 2 cents.

An excellent gaming rodent
I had the Razer DeathAdder Black Edition, and the left click button was getting unresponsive, so I was looking for a new mouse when I saw the Razer Taipan Battlefield 4 Edition and how many good reviews it received, so I thought I'd give it a try. Never regretted my purchase. The mouse is very comfortable and it is ridiculously accurate; I've been pulling off more headshots in COD and CS than when I had the DeathAdder. The only minor issue I had with this mouse is mostly with its Battlefield design; I mean if it's going to be a special edition, at least give it a really unique design, and not just paste a blurry picture. But other than that, a really excellent gaming mouse, and I would highly recommend this mouse

Solid gaming mouse, good for small hands
I've owned this mouse for about a week (edit: now about a month) after buying the best quality used one sold by Amazon. Prior to having this mouse, I just used a standard Logitech wireless laptop mouse. It was on its last legs after some abuse though, so after doing some research I settled upon the Razer Taipan as something I wanted to try out. Pros: -Beautiful looking mouse. I got the white color scheme one and it is definitely pretty to look at. Also matches my white/black PC tower. -Comfortable to hold, although it is definitely for smaller hands like other reviewers have said (the reason I bought it, I've got some baby hands). The rubber grips on either side underneath the side buttons make a super good thumb rest. I use kind of a claw grip, but it seems like it would be okay palm as well. Haven't noticed any hand fatigue so far, including game sessions of 8+ hours. -The tracking on the mouse seems to be relatively top notch from my experience. Granted, I did just move from a $20 dollar wireless mouse, so there was bound to be improvement. -The adjustable DPI is a pretty nice feature, although the maximum this mouse allows (8200) is laughably unnecessary. After a couple days of experimenting playing various games, I got mine honed in at 2000, where it has been ever since. -Ludicrous initial setup aside, Razer Synapse hasn't given me any problems yet! (EDIT: jk lolz) Cons: -I have had a few severe tracking issues. The reason though, it would seem, is because the sensor is incredibly, incredibly sensitive to any interference. The first couple days after owning it, I noticed occasionally the tracking would just kind of seize up and start doing circles instead of straight lines. As far as I can tell, each time it has been from tiny specks of hair or fuzz getting in the path of the sensor. This is with a brand new, spotless mouse pad too. It is definitely frustrating when it happens, since the rest of the time it tracks excellently. -The glossy plastics making up the mouse are fairly slick, including the main left/right buttons. I haven't really noticed it that badly when gaming, but they definitely seem like they would get bad quick if you've got some sweaty hands. -Occasionally upon starting a game, it seems like the mouse gets stuck at a sensitivity double of what it should actually be set at. It basically makes any games unplayable until I restart my computer (simply restarting the game, restarting Razer Synapse, or unplugging the mouse hasn't had any success). I have no idea what the source of this problem is, but I'm going to go ahead and blame Razer Synapse because I have absolutely no idea what else it could be. All in all, after researching for something lightweight, good for smaller hands, and possessing the right amount of secondary buttons, I feel like I made the right decision, and am definitely happy with my purchase.

A quality must have mouse for any white build !!
I picked the white Taipan mouse because of its color and the reputation of Razer. Right out of the box its very evident that the quality of this mouse is excellent. From the main frame to braided cord and USB connection, this mouse looks and feels great !!! It has a nice glossy white finish that the pictures simply do not capture. The white lighting is excellent and subtle. I can't say how long it will look this fantastic after hours of use, but I imagine it will fair very well... it simply is a must mouse to have if you are looking for a white mouse to accessorize your white / tuxedo build. It has a good avg weight to it, as well.

But unfortunately it is just not a very good mouse. For sure the Taipan is very good ...
First time writing a review because I really had a high expectation for this mouse. But unfortunately it is just not a very good mouse. For sure the Taipan is very good looking and the being Ambidextrous is a good feature. But I had a hard time to find a perfect gripping gesture. The left click button feels funny when I click it. It feels like the plastic is rubbing each other :(. The biggest disappointment is the sensitivity of the mouse. I play a lot of MOBA games and I just can't click on anything, When I set the acceleration to 0 I can still feel there is still some acceleration when I move the mouse. I tried to get use to it but I was so frustrated with it in the end so I have to stop using it. In the end, it was a really bad experience for me and I hope Razer will step their game up.

Its Okay.
The mouse was fine, I ended up returning it because I couldn't get a hold of Razer support. The mouse I got had a sticky/noisy LMB that was really getting on my nerves. Probably just a small defect.

Very good
Pros: - Ambidextrous - 9 fully programmable buttons - rubberized side grips - Insane DPI if you really needed it that high - Braided cord for non tangle - Dual 4G laser - Very good looking (has metal mesh under right/left click buttons) - Green LEDs match my Deathstalker (ymmv!) Cons: - Uses Razer Synapse 2.0, which I find to be... meh. If I was someone who was constantly going to different spots and places to play my games and took this mouse with me, I might appreciate it... but then again most of my games I use the same keybinds as the rest, so... maybe not. Either way, it's not so much a con as a "just saying." I've had this mouse for about a month now, and I still can't really come up with a con, it's technically perfect.

Excelente Mouse.

so if you got big paws like me, then it may not be the mouse ...
A little thin, not as big as the death adder, so if you got big paws like me, then it may not be the mouse for you. Performance wise absolutely no complaints..

Pretty good mouse
Pretty good mouse, accurate, smooth and everything I could ask for. the only thing bugging me is the side buttons on the right side for left handed people, I mean, I get why they're there, but they are useless to me and I keep misclicking them. They are automatically bound to the same function as the ones on the left side, and I couldn't find a way to disable them yet, will look into that later. But honestly, it's not even worth taking a star away for that issue, the mouse overall just works so well.

Great mouse
So when I got this mouse I was so excited because it was white and managed to match my pc theme of white. The mouse is also great for almost everything you have to do on a pc. A few complaints I do have of it is that my middle mouse button stopped worker after a while, which sucks because of the games I play. It also might be small for users with bigger hands, like I have average size hands to maybe the smaller side and my thumb and pinky is maybe a inch away from each if I wrap my hand around it. Which makes my pinky press into the desk/mouse to use it, but still good mouse for gaming and daily use
