This is a great set my sons 8,6,4 and I had a fun time growing the crystals They have asked me to buy it again and I probably will the directions were easy to follow we didn't have any problems

Not a complete kit however it is an excellent base to use to plan some things to do without having to do a ton of research and putting every little thing together yourself. There are ingredients you must purchase yourself which I was aware of before buying. One thing I was iffy about was measurements for the first expirement we did. However it was plenty easy to find other instructions and videos from those such as Emily Calandrelli. I scaled it down rather than ordering cups of alum so we could use the small thing of McCormicks alum I got. Will be doing each expirement here and there over time as I got it for my not quite 5 year old. Fun to connect to magic school bus episodes or books or other shows. Easy to set up and clean up.

Fun kit for kids. Great way to get them excited about science!

The kit does not include chemicals needed for the experiment. Most of the stuff many house hold has them but some things are hard to find like alum and ms Stewart bluing. Instruction are fun and educational for kid.

My son just tried to use this product but it didnt come with some of the items it is missing the measuring cup. I am going to do a full check to see what else may be missing. He just tried to do one of the experiments but qas Dissapointed because the measuring cup is not there so he guessed the measurments. He is 14 so he is capable of opening it and reading the experiments and its missing I am going to go thru the kit myself to check each item I didnt think I should have to do this because he is 14 it should of came with all the items. So now what he is doing is not working properly because he guessed the measuments. What a Dissapointed this is.he was so excited he was finally today able to do an experiment and his gift was incomplete.. I will post if more is missing. Can you please tell me what we should do or at least tell me what the measument of the measuring cup was suppose to be? So if thats is all thats missing we can at least know the correct measuring size..thank you one Dissapointed 14 uear old and mother

Our young grandkids, age 6 to 9, really enjoy 'making a mess' with the science kit, but we have to supervise..

Get a separate bag of sugar for this project. Supervision is a must, not necessarily for dangerous conditions, but definitely to make sure the kitchen/playroom/etc doesn't wind up on FEMA's list of disaster areas. Kids had fun, though, and I would buy again just to see the smiles.
