Review of the New Canon BG-E18 Battery Grip
As this being a Canon BG-E18 Battery Grip for the all New Canon EOS Rebel T6s DSLR Camera that was just released only a few months ago, with a complete new change, Maybe other then the size of the Canon EOS Rebel T6s, I noticed once huge difference other than the megapixel size of the sensor from 18 mp to 24 mp size, and its the battery. The T6s uses a different size or shape battery so no other model battery is interchangeable, so for now you can only buy Ginuwine Canon branded Battery's and Battery Grips, which I also suggest doing anyways, don't buy aftermarket for extremely important items when it comes to your powering system! Now since I've said all of that, To say that the genuine Canon Battery Grip for the T6s fits perfectly, and so far works flawlessly, a very great addition is that you don't have to pull a long battery tray out to change the battery's, the new Battery Grip has a door on the front so you can change the battery's without the fear of losing your battery sled and not being able to use the Grip, I did wish it would be able to use AA battery's since the battery's are used simultaneously In the camera, so when your battery's run dead, both run dead at the same time but it does offer you to operate your camera for a much longer time, but it would have been nice to have the AA battery option, but you can't get everything, and I believe having both battery's being in front of you to be changed out, makes up for not having the AA battery option, which I'm sure is the reason they couldn't add that to the Battery Grip, well enough about that, the BG-E18 Battery Grip is very well made, Canon has done an excellent job at doing that, which is a given because its Canon, we all expect that from them, but it feels so amazing to hold in your hand and all the buttons and controls are all well laid out, and I have small hands and it feels so soild, but it would feel the same with a person with medium, large and extra large hands, the controls are just that well laid out! Buy this Canon BG-E18 Battery Grip if you have a Canon EOS Rebel T6s, you won't be sorry, it will make you feel even more like a professional, and no I'm not paid by Canon or anybody else, I have to buy there product's just like everyone else! Yes the price is worth it!

Awesome
I looked at many different models by many different manufacturers. Ultimately I opted for the Canon brand for many reasons. The main reason is well, it is a Canon, and comes with their awesome warranty and was designed by them for their cameras. This one is specifically designed for the T6 and T6i. It has a shutter button on it so you can the camera on its side and still find the shoot button right where your finger is used to finding it. You can scroll the menus from it and control many things with it that you can control from the camera body. The best thing about it is that that it extends your camera battery time by double, using 2 Canon OEM batteries that you buy separately. A nice feature is that you don't have to have 2 batteries in it for it to work. It will work with only one...and the batteries do not have to have equal charges! I recommend the Canon batteries because they hold a charge longer than the off brands and you camera will not recognize the generics and won't tell you how much time you have left on them. Also when you insert the offbrand batteries the camera will tell you that if you proceed, you will void your warranty.

It completes the camera!
I absolutely LOVE the Canon battery grips. I first got one a few years ago when I picked up a new XSi and it completely transformed the feel and function of the camera. With this grip, using the camera at almost any angle feel very natural and all the controls are in easy reach. Also, with the ability to run of off either one or two batteries it allows you to not worry as much about running out of power any time soon. I was surprised that the new grips like this one no longer allowed the use of AA batteries anymore. My old XSi grip had an extra tray that could take (4) AAs. It was handy if you were in a situation where you needed a bit more power but had no rechargeables available.I did notice that this grip seems a bit bigger in the hand than my old XSi, and it has a slightly more "plastic" feel to it, but that's most likely just the different texture as I've noticed it on the T6i camera body as well.To me, this really completes the camera and I just can't see using one without it!

Not worth the money
I have a eos t6. And its not looking great for this battery extension. $133 is what I paid and it doesn't use LP-E10 batteries that came with thecamera, so I'll have to buy different batteries just to see if it works with my camera. So either I'll have to spend the money on two new batteries and a charger and basically have a battery and charger I'll never use, or chance trying to get a return.

Excellent upgrade for T6i
The T6i is a nice little camera, but adding this grip lets me balance heavier lenses and still shoot hand held. The attached photos were shot using a Sigma 100-400mm Contemporary, all hand held. I shot several images this way...spent over an hour outside capturing many wildlife shots.Double the battery life is obviously a great thing, but the added heft, ergonomic comfort and balance...that's what makes it worth the $$ for me.

Great, could be greater with compatibility with canon AC powered battery pack.
great quality workmanship, but I wish it was compatible with the AC battery bower adapter with a hole for the cord to exit the battery compartment like on my T6i frame itself. This would help when transitioning from walking around taking pictures to putting the camera on a stand to record video. Popping in the A.C. powered battery pack would be a lot easier than having to take my grip extender off, put back on my battery door on the T6i frame, and then pout in the AC battery pack. That's the only area for improvement I could suggest and is the only reason it didn't get 5 stars.

Three Stars
Nice grip. Makes taking vertical shots easier since there is a ridge to grip on the bottom.
