Machining Fundamentals is a comprehensive text that provides an introduction to the various machining operations, setups, and procedures. The colorful and detailed text covers all traditional machining methods, as well as newer and nontraditional methods. Extensive coverage of CNC and automated manufacturing processes is included. Review: Excellent intro-level textbook to the Machine Shop trade... - I got this book because of a class I was taking... it is written VERY well, reminds me of the old Industrial Arts textbooks in high school, but... better! LOTS of good info for the person exploring one of the machining trades, and for the student - with its workbook... Excellent book, written so a kid in a High School Metalshop class can understand, but also so an adult changing jobs or learning a new skillset can get engaged and learn a LOT in a short period of time. Make you a machinist by reading a book? Not likely. But this gives you one heck of a leg up. It was worth every cent I paid for it, and will stay on my shelves... not just for my own use and refreshers, but also for my 4 grandkids when they get older! Review: good book loaded with good info at a good price - great book

Good basic information
Machining Fundamentals provides a solid, basic approach to beginning to understand the machining process. We use it in school to supplement our current textbook to provide a deeper understanding of the subject. I find myself reading it prior to reading my textbook as a preparation to understanding the subject and the vocabulary of the subject matter.

Machining Fundamentals
I am currently using this book in a machine shop class I am taking. This book covers the lathe, milling machine, grinding and drilling and more. Cutting speeds, lubricants, metals, tools, and lots of safety articales scattered throughout each chapter, what to do and what not to do. Detailed and to the point.

A Good Basic Textbook
A very good BASIC textbook, intended for teaching high-schoolers the fundamentals, it's a good place to start for anyone who is just starting out in the machine arts. This book is the standard textbook used by many VO-TECH schools and is well worth the price. Copyrighted in 2004, it contains chapters covering most of the processes that you need to know. While an updated 2014 edition is available, this version is the best place to start for most beginners.

Text Book for MTSU Engineering Students
This is a text book for students of Mechanical Engineering at Middle Tennessee State University. It is one edition old, but since most students bought the old edition on account of being cheaper, MTSU professor decided to use it.
