Jane Austen Boxed Set (Word Cloud Classics)

This is such a cute book set. I love the pattern on the spine and the feel of the soft covers. The quotes and spine detail is pressed in so it is very tactile. The titles on the front have a nice shiny foil detail which I find fun. My only complaint is that the font size varies between books and some is rather small, see photos for a poorly shot comparison of two of the font sizes and line spacing differences.

Ordered as a gift - I was nervous about the quality since the price was cheaper than other fancy Jane Austen book sets. However, this exceeded my expectations. The colors exactly matched the picture, the patterns were beautiful, and the words were your average reading level - not too big or too small. If you are looking for a hard book cover, this is not for you. However, I found that the slightly bendable, but still incredibly sturdy book covers were a perfect fit for my purposes.

I read Sense and Sensibility, and Pride and Prejudice a few years ago, and wanted to read all Austen's novels. My previous versions of S&S and P&P were used paperbacks, which I didn't keep. Austen is a challenging author, and many times I have to read a paragraph, conversation or quote numerous times to understand her. As a result, I spend more time with her novels than other authors. This format is ideal for Austen. The covers are soft and comfortable, and don't show wear after holding them for several hours. I tend to leave fingerprints and smudges on books, but these wipe down very easily, eliminating all traces. My enjoyment and appreciation for the books i had read is greater, thanks partly to this particular version, and I'm enjoying reading the other four novels. The covers are not stiff, so that if they stand upright without support there is a risk that they will bend or warp over time because the covers extend beyond the pages. The box set eliminates that issue because it compacts the books so that they all support each other. The font is easy to read, but four of the books have a small font that would be better if it were larger. The price is great. I highly recommend this set.

I appreciate the sturdiness of the flexible covers. One of the books was in a bag with a stainless steel bottle of coffee that I didn't tighten the lid of very well. The coffee leaked out and was on the entire cover of the book for at least two hours before I discovered it. It wiped off cleanly and it didn't stain the cover. The cover is so durable that it spared the pages from getting soaked with coffee. I love hard covered books and paperbacks; both would have been ruined by my coffee bottle mishap, even with a homemade book cover. The spine of the cover material is very good too. It holds shape very well. The shelf box the set comes in helps the books maintain their shape as well. I would have preferred less pink in the cover color selections, but pink is fairly unavoidable in the pastel theme. I was more interested in the suede-like feel of the cover material than it's color.

He puesto foto de un libro de otra colección para que se pueda apreciar el tamaño, ya que he leído comentarios de que los libros son pequeños. Para mí, son la medida estándar de los libros en formato tapa blanda ingleses. También leí que la letra era bastante pequeña. A ver, enorme no es. Pero si estás acostumbrado a leer libros de tapa blanda en inglés la mayoría tienen letra pequeña. Ahora bien, no todos los libros de esta colección tienen la letra así pequeña. Hay algunos que la tienen un poco más grande. Muy contenta con la inversión

There are so many different Austen box sets to choose from online but this one has turned out to be fantastic. The covers are vivid with a beautiful design. They books come in a display box for convenience although we have chosen to display them on a shelf without the box and they look great. The texts are unchanged and unabridged, and this has made a fantastic gift.

Wunderschönes Bücherset

I have today had these delivered and they are beautifully packaged and beautifully presented. I have flipped through the pages and can find nothing to complain about. Some reviewers criticized the fonts but I can say that the font is your average font. 10 pt and not difficult to read at all, perhaps if you do have some vision problems you might find the font too small. I can say this, as my mum would find the font too small for her and would use her magnifier to help her read these! The covers of these books are just perfect. These are not your stiff hardback cover but a more floppy cover which actually I prefer, this means the pages are more easily read and open easier than many stiffer hard bound covered books do. I am very pleased with this purchase and impressed with Amazon delivering within 24hrs, I didn't really expect that would happen. So applause to our Australian Amazon for quick turnaround, which rarely happens with deliveries.

I have just found out the amazing Jane Austen novels and I could not resist this collection. A must-have edition for all Austen readers, you can see that all small details have been considered and the result is magnificent. Each volume has the novel quotes and keywords engraved on its cover, which is soft to the touch. The backcover patterns are also different. The printed page is easily readable and the layout has been carefully taken care of, too. Amazon delivery has been fast and efficient as usual.
